I really like Graves for the Canucks. He's been an outstanding defenseman for the Devils and the Avs and he'd be the perfect anchor for that second pair. I think that Rathbone + for Grans would be a better deal for me because I like Grans' size and physicality. I think that OEL and Myers are brutal but so is our defensive structure thanks to Mike Yeo and Trent Cull. I'd like to see Graves signed.

If you are buying out Mantha caps just do it themselves or get a better offer elsewhere ...

Los Angeles wouldn't trade Roy until it became pretty clear that they couldn't re-sign him -- i.e., not until the trade deadline in 2024. Garland is unnecessary when the Kings have 7 quality forwards (Fiala, Kempe, Moore, Arvidsson, Iafallo, Vilardi, Kaliyev) enough to fill out the top 9. Swapping a RD prospect like Spence or Grans for Rathbone is a good thought, though.

Mantha is one of the Caps top goal scorers and was on pace for nearly 50 points despite playing mostly 3rd line time with a center that struggles to create any sort of offense, he's producing despite being shuffled around from line to line without any continuity. Despite being the public scapegoat, he's been a quality scorer producing at a similar clip to Boeser while also cheaper, better defensively, and not to mention adding one of the Capitals best prospects on top of an already unappealing deal. Not to mention he scored 20 4 years ago in his last full season not cut short by injury or covid, this is a catastrophic undervaluing of talent, especially when being traded for a more expensive player.
