        Bold take, I didnt quote you.

        Just because Raty* is the Isles* best prospect doesn’t make him any better compared to other prospects, he’s definitely a C+ prospect.

        The difference is Raty is on a completely different tier than Olausson or Holmstrom - and he’s a C. He has legitimate top line upside

        Hughes for Barzal isn’t that comparable imo. Pettersson is better than Barzal, and Hughes is better than Dobson (Dobson being a RHD closes the gap in value a bit though)

        U can’t go wrong with either duo. Pettersson brings more value as a defender imo, but I don’t think he’s as dynamic as Barzal is tbh. Pettersson has better point totals, but if you gave Barzal a Kuzmenko level winger I think he would be one of the top point producers in the league.

        Yeah but Pettersson is also one of the best defensive forwards in the league as well..

        I said he brings significant value as a defender, but I don’t think he’s as dynamic a play maker. Look at the end of the day I’m happy with my guy, and I’ll leave it at that.

        Yeah I agree. He looks nhl ready but I don’t want him in the NHL if he’s going to get buried with grinders. It’s incredible that he scored a goal playing on a. Line with Johnston and Martin

        A more dynamic, flashy player, and a better playmaker sure, but Pettersson is better at everything else..

        It’s really hard to tell because Pettersson has Kuzmenko and Barzal has Josh Bailey who might be the most low energy player in the entire NHL.

        One of the best play drivers in the entire league, but he has **** line mates and has been snake bitten for the better part of two years.

        All good homie, I didn't help the situation at all. I Think both A.R and O.O are A- prospects at this point and hold late 1st value. We all overvalue certain prospects and for two clubs with prospect pools that have been neglected to the point they look like a pond, it's a leap to expect these frogs to turn into princes. Oh but we will lol

        They could send Compher in the deal at the TDL and they maybe trade Girard as you said in the summer, the d-core would still be frightening with;
        Toews - Makar
        Byram - Manson
        guy - E. Johnson (resigned cheap)

        And now they would have a dominant 2C in Nelson to replace Kadri..

        I thought about that exact sequence. It's not too bad. My worry is that they'll lose Toews to free agency the year after though.

        Long story short, the team would have to have a pretty good idea of whether Toews sticks around and at what number before doing this. It's certainly worth some thought imo.

        I like what I’ve seen of Olausson, but I haven’t seen enough that I would feel comfortable doing an in depth breakdown lol. When it comes to Raty I’ll say this. He’s probably their best prospect since Dobson, and he may be their best prospect since Barzal. Raty falling may have saved Lou’s job tbh. His 200 foot game is very solid, and I feel like he doesn’t get nearly enough credit for putting Finland on his back at world juniors last summer.

        Lmao checks out. Dude can drive possession against men. He had a couple shirts against Calgary where it looked like he was playing against world junior competition. Idk what lines he was matched up with in those situations tho tbh.

        Meg Angley does great work covering the Eagles and O.O. He has legit top 6 upside and an nhl ready shot/puck protection. He is just learning the rest of the pro game. Cronin will do wonders with him, I think he needs another year of seasoning. Our hopes is he is Bura 2.0

        Last year I believe. Behrens was the only one this yeae

        I’m a fan of Behrens, but him and Hughes were not good together in their own end imo. I’m a big fan of Ryan Ufko, but he’s an LI guy so I’m biased lol.

        I hope I dont sound like too big of a homer, Behrens had his mistakes but was one of the best dmen in his own zone and breaking up oncoming chances. I want to say JFresh tweeted about it. I think it was more Hughes lack of defensive ability. On paper they should have been good together but I don't think they worked out. I missed Ufko, will have to look him up!

        Ur right. It might’ve been more about Hughes lol. I would’ve loved to see an Ufko-Behrens pair tbh. But team USA was doing some weird **** during the team Canada game. I feel like they had a d man drifting towards the point on both of the back door goals lol. It may have been by design idk.

        ”Competitive rebuild” or a re-shape of the roster, call it what you want, Isles is way ahead of the Sharks, don’t you agree? Karlsson and Meier/Hertl is the only thing keeping Sharks from not competing for Bedard.

        No I don't agree. Timo will be around 28-31 when they are competitive again. It makes sense to keep him when we actually have top prospects like Eklund, Bordeleau, Bystedt, Gushchin, Robins, Havelid, and likely a top 5 pick this year to build around.

        You want vets to to still be top players as you come out of a rebuild, which Hertl and Meier will be. Right around that time (3 years) They'll have Burns and Vlasic salaries off the books and only one year left of Karlsson, Couture, and Jones' buyout. That will be right around the time when the top young guys will be getting they're big contracts.

        They could send Compher in the deal at the TDL and they maybe trade Girard as you said in the summer, the d-core would still be frightening with;
        Toews - Makar
        Byram - Manson
        guy - E. Johnson (resigned cheap)

        And now they would have a dominant 2C in Nelson to replace Kadri..

        No they won't send JTC because that weakens them at C, which is what they're trying to strengthen. The proposal here is bad for both teams and probably doesn't warrant as large a discussion as it has lol.
