Two rentals, a player that barely manages 0.5 points per game and a finnish junior that never managed to get a single callup to Liiga in 4 years and to top it off a junior that has barely progressed in three years.
That's not going to get Larkin alone without retention.
The easiest decline this century.
Packed as much ignorance into one sentence as humanly possible.
1. Salminen played juniors for Jokerit.
2. Jokerit’s senior team does not play in Liiga.
3. During the time Salminen was there, they were in KHL.
4. Salminen had long been committed to play college hockey (was an early commit to Denver, later switched to UConn).
5. NCAA rules bar players who had played professionally from eligibility.
6. KHL and Liiga are both professional leagues.
7. Salminen had to preserve his amateur status by staying in junior, thus could not play in KHL or Liiga games.
8. Last year, the plan was for Salminen to play in USHL with Dubuque, but COVID put a squash on that plan. So he returned to captain Jokerit’s junior team throughout tumultuous season (senior team withdrew from KHL). He was still highest scoring drafted player in the Finnish junior league.
9. This year, he had Visa issues that delayed his arrival at UConn. To stay fit while home, he practiced with Jokerit. And eventually played 1 game (your “4th season”) before coming to USA.
10. Today, he is the 1st line Center for #9 ranked Huskies (as a Freshman).
Maybe just stay in your lane.
