I can’t see why Nashville would take back Petersen tbh

It would be to make the cap work for LA.

NSH doesn’t touch this. They could likely get a 1st+ for Ekholm, so I don’t see the value coming back to NSH for taking on Petersen’s contract.

If NSH trades Ekholm, it’s partially for cap reasons— and this doesn’t solve that by adding a multi-year, $5m cap dump.

However, I could see something around Ekholm with slight retention for Grans, Walker, and picks. That works for both teams imo

I understand the inclusion of petersen for cap purposes but his contract is terrible and year 1 of a buyout is just as bad. The 1st is just enough to take petersen so thats basically 2 2nds for ekholm shich seems pretty light for a really good dman.
