I'd say Gavrikov makes the most sense here.

Wtf is with all the Lafferty to Edmonton trades on here lately, is he supposed to be some bottom six savior for the Oilers or what?!!

McCabe would be a solid pickup for the Oilers, Kenny should be talking to Davidson about him, get someone to convince him to waive his no trade protection assuming Edmonton is one of the 7 teams on his no go list which they likely are.

Let's be honest, McCabe and Murphy haven't been in playoffs before (bubble doesn't count). To say either would reject EDM, TOR, or other Canadian city might be short sighted unless you hear it directly from them.

Since you opened the door here, Gavrikov is 2 years younger, on an expiring contract and cost just as much to acquire as Eddy but the pros for Eddy are you get him for 2 playoff runs not 1, Eddy is a minute munched, has size, decent skating, defensive, plays the PK, clears the front of the net and has Stanley Cup pedigree (other than Ekholm who else on your list has that, no one).

Con for Edmundson is that he’s not very good at hockey

He's better than a keyboard warrior sitting behind a computer screen saying how bad he is!

No you aren't, if you were you would have said he inst as good as so and so or this guy or that guy. You were generalizing your dislike or jealousy for him by saying "he is not good at hockey" obviously he is good at hockey because he is in the NHL and is a highly sought after player. It's just jealous fans behind computer screens that say "he isn't good at hockey" then claim to be comparing him to his peers to justify their trolling.

Not sure that the highly sought after part is true. I never mentioned myself at all. Obviously he is better than me I’m not in the NHL. Don’t think I’m the one who is being a troll in this exchange

Let's be honest, McCabe and Murphy haven't been in playoffs before (bubble doesn't count). To say either would reject EDM, TOR, or other Canadian city might be short sighted unless you hear it directly from them.

Anything is possible, its rather curious that McCabe has a seven(Canadian?) team no trade list though.

Con for Edmundson is that he’s not very good at hockey

That is trolling, as for the part about him not being highly sought after, according to guys like Chris Johnston, LeBrun, Engles and Freidman as many as 7 teams have called the Habs inquiring about him. That is pretty highly sought after for a guy "not very good at hockey". Sure he is no Headman or Makar but he is still highly coveted by actual hockey ops guys in the NHL. The only hockey people who don't like him are fans that know little to knotting about hockey other than 10 guys skate around a rink smacking a rubber disc around with sticks.

Tell me what I said about Eddy that is untrue.

Is he only 2 years older than Gavrikov? Yes he is!
Does his extra year of term give whoever acquires him 2 playoff runs instead of 1? Yes it does!
Is it going to cost a team a 1st + to acquire him? According to all the insiders it will, just like Gavrikov.
Is he a minute muncher? Yes he plays over 22 minutes a night.
Does he have size? Yes he does he is 6'5" 225 lbs.
Does he have decent skating? Yes it is about average for a defensive D man.
Is he a defensive defenseman? Well he certainly isn't an offensive defenseman lmao.
Does he play the PK? Yup he does.
Does he clear the front of the net? Again yes he does.
Does he have a Stanley Cup ring? Hmm, I will go with, yes of course he does.

I can take this one step further if you wish, not only does Eddy have a ring but he also has 75 games of Stanley cup playoff experience to go with it including 2 finals appearances Ekholm has the same and Gavrikov has 12. Someone is severely lacking lmao!!!
