because i just don’t see any world where any team in hockey wouldn’t trade him for Meier and then some. as is this trade is kinda underwhelming.

Meier might consider 9x8. Or he might take 1 year at 10 million, and become a UFA after this season, or a UFA after next season if he is qualified at 10 million this season. After next season, cap should go up, so Meir could get 7x9 or 7x10 on his next deal, and be on the team of his choosing (that didn't give up assets to rent him).
