Edmonton, Colorado, and Minnesota say no.

Nashville might agree to that.

Vancouver takes that.

They need to cut salary and Dvorak is a good player and 2 million cheaper than Boeser.

Dvorak is a solid 3rd liner but I’d rather have Boeser at his salary than Dvorak at his. I’d consider it if it was a better pick, but would personally want someone other than Dvorak

Nashville doesn’t want to deal with that Anderson deal and give away to 3 prospect in their pool to do it. They decline

Boeser is worth much more and is trending up. 20pts in 26gp isn’t a cap dump lol. If you payed any attention to the team Boeser has been a lot better recently and looking more like he used to be. You see one time he’s a healthy scratch and you jump on it like his value is zero lol

Nobody mentioned value or implied a cap dump, he mentioned cap restraints that the Canucks are in, likely from bad contracts and having a priority in Horvat to re-sign.

Cap room doesn't grow on trees, Dvorak gives you a salary controlled 3C to address other issues in the coming years.

Teams are not about to help the Canucks with their cap problem without benefiting, Boeser's value is hurt by that.

Canucks don’t have to trade Boeser and if Horvat does sign for around 8mill they can still fit him under the cap if they are able to move out Myers. They can also sign Kuzmenko for around 7mill too. They’re not that handcuffed against the cap as people think. No reason to sell low just because people on this site seem to think they’re not going to be cap compliant without a miracle

Damn........ Montreal must have the most ridiculously dumb fan base of all the NHL teams, closely followed by Vancouver. The Avs decline. They should have less than zero interest in Monahan and even less interest in parting with their '23 1st for him.

im fine with that trade. If Horvat walks whos playing C besides EP40? I think we are all done with the Miller at C. Its just reallocates his cap space to a cost controlled shut down C. Also frees up a spot for Pod to play regular minutes.

They are handcuffed, their biggest issues are RD and depth forwards.

The two signings you propose don't address either of those issues, and still keep them against the cap ceiling.

again, teams won't help Vancouver out, Myers would likely require a sweetener.

It's not an issue of being cap compliant, Vancouver will be cap compliant, the question is whether they can be competitive with the current contracts they have, the answer is likely still a no to that question.

IMO, Horvat and Kuzmenko leave, Vancouver won't be competitive for a while, the Acquilini's are too heavily involved in the team, and they are likely stuck with the OEL, Garland, Myers contracts until they end.

They would be smart to trade Horvat and Kuz at their peak values now to re-tool around Pettersson, Hughes and Demko.
