Rangers aren't trading Lafreniere for a rental in Bo Horvat, NYR doesn't have the cap space to sign Horvat long term for the AAV he wants.

I don't think so. I don't think anyone takes him right now without a contract coming back. He's an undersized middle 6 forward that doesn't play special teams (a little bit of PP2).

Meh. I think he is a sneaky buyout candidate this offseason if they can't find a deal. Maybe they can find a deal but I don't think it's a guarantee.

I disagree. He's an average player that is a bad fit on the roster and makes too much money and has too much term. Buyout is favorable terms for the team. I'd much rather have that cap space and roster spot than ride out the contract.
