Créé par: Lancebmx
Équipe: 2022-23 Red Wings de Detroit
Date de création initiale: 23 déc. 2022
Publié: 24 déc. 2022
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
I know every team declines.
Transactions
1.
DET
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander
  2. Minten, Fraser
  3. Villeneuve, William
  4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (TOR)
Détails additionnels:
Kerfoot for cap purposes only.
I don't believe retention is needed if Kerfoot is in the trade, depending on how many guys they have on IR.
Value is a first, second and fourth.
The fit seems to be good with him on the second line with Tavares and Nylander/Marner
TOR
  1. Barton, Seth
  2. Bertuzzi, Tyler
Détails additionnels:
Seems to be the flavour of the week right now.
Barton to replace Villeneuve on the Marlies.
2.
DET
  1. Heinen, Danton
  2. Kapanen, Kasperi
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (PIT)
PIT
  1. Erne, Adam
  2. Suter, Pius (1 612 500 $ retained)
3.

  1. Choix de 5e ronde en 2023 (WPG)
  2. Choix de 7e ronde en 2024 (WPG)
4.
DET
  1. Rooney, Kevin
  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (CGY)
  3. Choix de 4e ronde en 2024 (CGY)
Détails additionnels:
Small cap savings next year for Calgary if they want it.
Can retain if they plan on going big game hunting and need the cap space. Swap the 4th with a 3rd in that case.
CGY
  1. Sundqvist, Oskar
Détails additionnels:
Jarnkrok got a 2nd, 3rd and 7th last year.
5.
DET
  1. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (NJD)
Détails additionnels:
Defencemen always seem to get greater returns at the deadline.
NJD
  1. Heinen, Danton
  2. Määttä, Olli
Détails additionnels:
Heinen added just for extra forward depth of they want it. He provides no value to this trade and can be removed if necessary, just giving him a chance to play in the playoffs.
6.

NJ may be in the market for Graves replacement...so maybe Maatta would be an option.

Well I'd keep Walman, he's good insurance and hes played pretty well. I'd keep kap if you get him over swapping him for poolparty. The one deal I'd do in a heartbeat is mittelstadt, if Buffalo would give him up for anything reasonable I'd grab him.

Kind of what I was thinking, plus additional depth is never a bad thing.

I was hesitant on trading Walman and that Kapanen deal to be honest. Would love to give Mitts a shot here.

I like the idea of Bertuzzi, but I think ultimately the Leafs pass on this. Too much injury history with Bertuzzi, and I think the Leafs first round pick could be used better

I know it's a wonky stat but Walman is 2nd on the team in +- with a +14 in 16 games.

What's this injury history you speak of? A back injury where he came back for a full season and scored 30? Or the broken hand from blocking a shot then getting hit by another shot in the same hand? That's pretty much every injury for him.

Leafs need the flexibility of Kerfoot at centre if needed. Leafs need about their only centre prospect Minten.,

That player could be Engvall coming back, not sure if the cap works without retention though. Totally understandable about Minten, he's be top choice not named Knies and Niemela. Ty Voit could be an option.

yes

Which player would you rather target then? I would say pretty much every single player has a similar injury 'history' if not worse. Don't think too many players can play in the NHL without getting hurt here and there.

Pens decline hard. As much as I want Kapanen out, that's a gross overpay. Not to mention we have no need for Erne.

I was discussing this trade with a couple other pens fans and they seemed on board.

So what? You agree with all DET fans on here?

Erne to Heinen is basically lateral move, but $1M more than Heinen, so we're going to pay $1M for the same production?

But seriously. Take a look at the Pens roster. Erne and Heinen put out roughly similar numbers, with a small edge to Heinen and Erne is just more physical. Why would we pay $1M for basically the same player?

You retain on Suter and make us take back more money on the Heinen/Erne swap. It's really a wash when you consider Heinen could easily be off-loaded to any playoff-bound team for a late pick.

Suter is also not much to write home about. He's OK. Kapanen + 3rd for Suter (no retention) straight up would make more sense.

100% pass on the Bertuzzi trade, Yzerman would have zero need for those players. His value is low. So we'd be better off signing him for 2 x $5,500,000 and let him build up his value once again.

Oesterle and Walman have very little value, Odds of either one of them let alone both being traded are pretty slim to none.

And since whenever has Yzerman ever traded for a player, only to trade that player to another team, Answer is it has never happened in history. And i seriously doubt it happens now.

To much churn.

The Bert trade is weak return. A 1st, a 2nd and helping them out with both a good player and their cap problems isn't the best we can get for Bert. If you're offering a defender back make it McIsaac not Barton who is waiver exempt a year longer and fills more of a need for us.

Trading both Määttä and Walman wouldn't be good for the team and your ask for Walman is way too low.

Also the PIT trade doesn't feel right, we should be getting a better return for both Suter (especially with retention) and Erne.

Why would Bertuzzi sign a short term contract tho?

Wings fans: "We need more center prospects". But we don't need Minten who is a really good one?
