I could see a JP for Zadina swap, my issue with that is EDM needs centers. And Zadina is a pure winger is he not?
I would be targeting Ras if I were EDM, obviously the cost would be different

Rasmussen isn't going anywhere. He has taken longer to develop but he has taken great strides this season. He is turning into a complete player, and is learning how to use his body with physicality. Rasmussen may very well develop into that coveted 2C slot.

JP sucks. I'd rather keep Zadina with his good metrics and excellent contract. JP will not break out. Zadina still could break out.

I would not trade Fabbri away for nothing. If he stays healthy he is a good top 9 forward. He also brings physicality and energy to the team.

They should at least see what he can do before trading him. Retaining little bit of his salary and there is certainly a team who pays for him. Now we loose him for nothing.

You got it backward. Bottom 9. Fabbri is not good enough defensively to keep up with any teams' top line. Personally, I like to think of Fabbri as a poor man's David Petton, but not as consistent. Given the right matchups Fabbri can be a 25 goal scorer when he returns, he is gonna be 4th line until someone in tbe middle 6 gets hurt. Gonna be interesting to see what Veleno, Zadina, and Fabbri can do together.

What do you think about retaining money? I am sure there would be a GM interested if Fabbri made only 2 or 3 million. Wings could get an actual asset for him and not loose him for nothing.

If he can stay healthy, there is no reason to retain money for Fabbri. He is an offensive 20 to 25 goal scorer who plays better down the lineup. He excels when he is the big fish in a small pond, but his deficiencies are exposed when he plays where he "should" slot in the top 6. Under 5 million for a hard working middle 6 who can plug holes at any forward spot is a luxury. I don't think trading Fabbri is worth it unless the return exceeds his value (like a 1st round pick or a high end prospect who will be ready in a year or 2). The likelihood of that scenario playing out is low, but every year there is a team or 2 looking to get that last complimentary piece for a run or they need a stop gap until guys get healthy (Legwand trade anyone?).
