As much as we need a player like Kuz on the Island, Vancouver is also trying to get rid of cap too. Maybe Bailey, a 1st and 2024 3rd for Garland and Kuz? Maybe another player or a 3rd team involved in the trade to take that player?

it doesnt cost a first to dump Bailey ☠️ he has one year left and is still a middle six forward who plays special teams. A player like him would cost 3-4 mil or so in the open market, so that extra 1-2 mil doesnt costs a first. I agree that wihtout retention he is negative, but only a 2nd or so. And with 1 mil retention, islanders could easily get back some value

Ain't no way you are getting Kuzmenko for that. Bailey is going to cost you to dump. Kuzmenko will likely get A LOT of interest at the deadline. Every single team in the league was interested in him at the beginning of the season. Now that he has shown that he is the real deal, he isn't going to come cheap. A PPG 35+ goal winger on an ELC contract is going to cost you. If you want to dump Bailey, the deal would have to be a 2023 first, second round pick, and then Bailey

It's two years of a player making 2 million more then he should. Maybe not a first but a 2nd + a 4th or a small pick.
