Description
The 1st two deals happen during the 2022-23 season TDL. This team is making me want to commit a Baker Mayfield-like headbutt into a wall. Just tear it down. This lineup assumes Hynes has been fire because he would never let Novak see the lights of an NHL arena, if it were up to him.

I don’t see this happening until Poile retires— unfortunately.

I like Ekholm to LAK for Grans+ over the deal you’ve proposed, but yours isn’t bad. I like Grans long-term for the right side— especially if a Fabbro trade occurs (which I wouldn’t mind).

I find it unlikely that VAN would make that trade, but maybe for a player like Fabbro? Would give them another young option on the right side.

Girard is an interesting target— I wouldn’t mind nabbing him, but I also don’t know. Something makes me apprehensive to make that trade and I’m not exactly sure what.

I would rather start a rebuild right now as opposed to anything else, like you’re suggesting. NSH needs a total culture change— coach, gm, hockey ops, etc. New blood, new vision. They need higher aspiration than just being a playoff team. I want a group that wants to win.

I would hate to trade Fabbro. He’s looked solid defensively as of late and is making plays. We haven’t been getting team results recently, but Fabbro is playing some of the best hockey I’ve seen him play. I like the LAK idea - might try to incorporate it into the next ACGM I make.

Like I said in the description, this assumes everyone’s been fired. I’d like to see Hynes get fired immediately, then I’d make Karl Taylor my interim head coach for the rest of the year (see how he works with the young players, etc.) Off-season plan would be to “transition” Poile to an “advisory role.” (Let him go out with dignity and have a tiny role in the org.)

So would be happy with that coaching change and move for Poile

If Ottawa trades for a RHD from Nashville we're going to want Fabbro.

Like I said above I’m very hesitant to move Fabbro, but would you consider a Barrier trade if I took Zadorov back. He’d just be added on

So if you offered to take Zaitsev for Barrie no retention on either side it doesn't make sense for us because we can't afford either of them next year. But if you retain $1.5 million on Barrie and take Zaitsev I'd probably do it.

Don't think that trade really answers the Avs needs. If they move Girard it's likely either for a younger C or for futures after they've made a different C move.

Granlund’s a good 2nd line C. He’s 30 with only 3 years left on a good deal. What’s not to like?

I think Sissons gets more
Everytime i try to trade for him NSH fans come out of the wood work .
I got away with a 2nd round pick , 5th round pick and Norlinder(or Mailloux)

Then again thats off season and start of the season.
Closer to TDL we get a Center who can take 1300 draws at 55% win rate averaging 2-3 hits a game playing 16 minutes a night will bring suitors even with Term.

Reverse the argument. Girard is a good 2nd pairing D. He's only 24 with 4 and a half years left on the same value deal....and the picks are kinda meh. Basically no take backs. Don't get me wrong I think Granlund is a decent player and not the worst option but not sure I'd trade Girard for him. At this point I'd actually be more interested in Sissons for depth (especially with JTC likely not re-signed next year) going forward, especially at the cost of a third.
