You undervalued Schenn, but you also overvalued Myers, Kuzmenko, OEL, Miller, and Horvat. Im torn between trying to decide which is more unrealistic, but I think it might actually be the Miller trade. A bottom feeder team with promising prospects and decently bright future trades a 5th overall centre, probably a top 10 2024 pick, and a 2nd for an aging winger on an 8 year deal, completely shattering any hopes of them being good in the future.

What on God's green earth is that Horvat trade? Absurdly unbalanced trade that's an immediate rejection from the Stars

        Overvalued everyone. Schenn isn't worth more than a 4th. He's a 7/8 defenceman

A 1st for OEL? Even with that money retained, he'd have four more years past this season under contract at a $5MM+ cap hit at 31 years old with his best years well behind him. No one is giving up a 1st for him.

I've had this debate a billion times with negative IQ hockey fans. Each time I see one of you biffs, I wonder how there's an infinite supply of you guys. Schenn is good. He's literally built for playoff hockey, on a cheap deal, plays big minutes AND elevates offensive d-men. He fetches a 2nd AT LEAST.

Also, what is that Preds trade?? Poile would block your number. Johansen doesn't have negative value and can probably fetch a 2nd and a hefty contract(to make cap work).

He plays big minutes because the Canucks have the worst right defence in the league. Schenn doesn't make the Leafs. Like when he was in Tampa and never played until several guys were hurt. He's a 7/8 defenceman.

Lol, you're actually brain dead. He definitely does. Schenn>Holl. He's good. He'll definitely help the Leafs out in the playoffs. He's making that team as top pair alongside Rielly and on 1st PK unit.

Isles wouldn't take Ekman-Larsson if you gave us a 1st rounder let alone give you one for him. LOL....seriously stop.

In Canuckle land all of their players are great; facts, standings, metrics aside. I’m convinced that it’s a mixture of pot smoke and heavy rain. They are truly deluded

why dont you just critique the trades and no go after us as people. Youre better than that, Do you do this for every fanbase? or just the canucks, we could say a lot of crap about leafs fans but for the most part we hold our tongues.

There is no fan base as consistently ridiculous as the Canuckles. Maybe you should go back and read what you & your fellow Canuckle heads were writing in the summer. The team is now what it is and you’ve just shifted the ridiculous to how much you can get for your thoroughly average players. I think the whole lower mainland needs to give their head a shake .
        Specific critiques:
1/ Leafs are currently a top 3 defensive team, with our best dman still to come off LTIR ; no chance we send a 3rd for 7th / 8th dman
2/ why would any team give up assets for Myers, especially a team that won’t be making the playoffs? Even with retention, just ridiculous
3/ a1st, a 2nd and a top 5 prospect for a guy with NO playoff track record. Kuzmenko looks good but small sample size and no chance anyone pays that much for dude with no playoff history. Leafs know - Mikheyev looked great at times in reg season but completely disappeared every playoffs. Just unreasonable ask for untested player
        4/ 2 1sts + a top 3 prospect for rental Horvat, overpay imo

Now we get to the truly & stupendously ridiculous:
5/ isles top 4 d is amongst the best in league, but they are going to trade a 1st & 4th for OEL, who even with retention is one of the worst contracts in the league. Truly laughable
6/ blue jackets who are in the bedard sweepstakes are going to trade their TOP prospect in Johnson (a franchise 1 or 2C) + a 1st + a 2nd for Miller, who is ageing and about to start a terrible contract , 7x$8. Reprehensible is the only word I can use for this fluff
7/ Nashville will give you Johansen, but unlike your cap dumps (Myers, OEL, Miller) they’ll also add a 1st for the right to do so. Again, laughable

7/ Nashville will give you Johansen, but unlike your cap dumps (Myers, OEL, Miller) they’ll also add a 1st for the right to do so. Again, laughable

Dude, youre missing my point, I think that this team sucks as much as you do, I know that the leafs are good, you dont have to prove that to me, I saw the trades and dont think that they are good, but why cant you leave it at that, for every 2 crazy canucks fans there are 3 equally crazy leafs fans. I could say that the whole of the GTA and southern Ontario needs to give their head a shake. I wasnt on here during the summer, I had a feeling the moves were bad. All I am asking is that when you post, you do so respectfully, dont be saying stuff like" here is no fan base as consistently ridiculous as the Canuckles" because you know full well the same could be said about leafs fans.

-A 3rd is the max that Toronto should be giving up for a depth D at the deadline; I don't hate this deal for them.

-Myers isn't really worth a 2nd even at 1x$4M left next year; I think it's more likely you just send him out for FCs a la the Dmitry Kulikov deal from last summer.

-Kuzmenko is going to come down to earth - it's very rare for a player outside of the 1980s to break 23% shooting, and he's at 24.5%. Beyond that, it's an egregious overpay for the Avs to give up one of their better prospects PLUS a first and a second for a rental. What in their recent past of dealing makes you feel like they'd pay that price for any rental, much less one with only 27 NHL games played to date? Kuzmenko looks like a great add, and I think he will be a solid player in this league for some time to come, but no way a team gives up a better package than what multi-time 40 goal scorer Alex Debrincat got for Kuzmenko.

-Speaking of small sample sizes and regression, Bo Horvat is shooting 21.5%. He's always been a good shooter (13.1% for his career) but I'd argue that valuing him based on 28 games during his walk year as opposed to the 572 games of previous evidence would be foolish. He'll get a 1st and good prospect; he will not get multiple 1sts and top line prospect.

-Islanders already have Adam Pelech and Alex Romanov as LD1/LD2. Adding OEL, at best, upgrades their third pair LD. Would *you* pay a 1st rounder for a $5M LD3 for his age-32 through -36 seasons?

-You're stuck with JT Miller. The worst thing Vancouver did for his trade value was signing him to that 7x$8M. The *best* case scenario has you trading him this year, before the extension -and full no move cluase- kick in; and I'm sure that doing that is going to make the Canucks a hot destination for future UFAs as long as Pat Allvin's in charge, right? No way that could possibly backfire on you - and no way that CBJ gives up one of their best C prospects plus a 1st and a 2nd for the right to live through JT's decline years.

-Why is Nasvhille dumping Ryan Johansen here? Johansen is still performing at a very solid 2C level - he's probably slightly overpaid at $8M, but he fits age-wise with their core and they have no large cap obligations coming up that would force their hand. They certainly don't need to give up a decent prospect & a 1st to move him out, that's for sure.

I thought I was pretty respectful; a few chirps but justified imo given how truly poor thought and one sided out the trade proposals were.
Leafs are most popular team in the league so lots of opinions - and I often disagree with my fellow leaf fans. I’m sure Canuckles have loyal & passionate fan base too, but there does seem to be a pretty consistent level delusion running through canuckle posts. The team is not that good, the players are not that good, and the prospects are not that good. Accept the rebuild and stop posting ridiculous trade scenarios where you fleece other teams, embrace reality

K thats understandable, I just dont want people going after factors they cant control, chirping their deals is whatever, but going after where they live isnt. thanks for understanding
