And how much could Flyers recieve in a trade where Hayes is retained about a Mil and Take back a Cap dump 1-2 years worth 3Mil.

I could see Colorado giving a 1st, but they don't really have a bad contract, so Philly would have to retain half instead of 1M.

Maybe Vancouver would give a 2nd and Boeser for Hayes without any retention. But they're probably on his NTC.

I actually like the Boeser Idea. Problem is we have alot of RW's that need NHL time soon.

On the Colarado front Its gonna be very tight on cap over there and Newhook seems to be coming into his own so im just not sure they do it.

Because Hayes is the better player and he's a center. A late 2nd or high 3rd would cover the difference in value.

There's a 500k cap difference, but he was willing to retain 1M on Hayes. Maybe make this cap neutral for both teams.

In such a case you lose Horvat. You replace him with another center who can put up points only at the cost of an Undervalued player with a hefty Cap and a pick. If Philly retained I think it makes some sense.

Paul Maurice is definitely on the brink of being fired, eh? Panthers are under .500, on the verge of bottom 10 in the league atm, and I highly doubt they just pull the chute on the season and sell given that MTL owns their 1st round pick outright.

They just hired Maurice last summer on a 3 years contract, and with all the injuries they got, i don't think they fire him year 1.

Trading an unprotected 2023 1st at the 2022 trade deadline, then blowing up the team in the summer, was a big mistake. Zito should be the one fired.

He is 30 years old. This trade couldn't make less sense

GM's rarely get fired mid-season though, and while it's easily arguable that he should be on the hot-seat, he probably feels that pressure as well and firing Maurice is really the only last ditch effort he can try outside of a roster shake-up, which may not even be available at this point in time. If he can get the go ahead from ownership, I'd expect Maurice to be gone within the next few weeks if the Panthers continue the way they are.
