Like there is a thing called the cap, and COL has zero chance of re-signing ROR. On top of that you’ve got COL not only taking a pass on the 22 draft but the 23 draft and trading their top 2 prospects in the system.

Maybe if your team hasnt won the cup in this era(not a shot at the Habs) a gm would be willing to be that short sighted. This team is set up to win for at least the next 3-5 seasons. If Behrens, O.O and who ever that 1st becomes are nhl players, it extends the Avs window. Trading them and bringing on extra cap(who knows what RoR will ask) on a player past his prime is how you close that window. Even worse(going forward) if you trade those assets and RoR walks in f.a.
