Description
Sandin and Lily, who I have been very critical of (Sandin especially) are starting to show their worth. Gio is likely the best bargain contract in the league. Holl is quieting the ridiculous fans. Murray is the calmest crease presence the leafs have had since Belfour. So what’s the upgrades we need?
Is Knies actually good enough to slide in to the top 6? Kerfoot is the whipping boy, but if he made a million less he would be fine. Engvall’s size keeps him in but man his hockey iq is bad. I would love some third line centre depth. Who that is and at what price I don’t know.

Long story short. Leafs are playing good hockey. How long will they keep it up? Is there a reasonable cost add they should make?

You guys hated Freddie SO MUCH - he’s one of the calmest goalies in the crease I’ve seen in a while.

Freddie needed out of TO. I loved the guy. But his inconsistency and squeaker goals were the Achilles heal of the Leafs for several seasons and playoffs. I am glad he is doing well in Carolina. But it is the truth.

i think its for the best to not compare matt murray to belfour after 8 games played. might want to ease their expactation a bit.

Hahaha. I’m sorry you read it this way. I look at it as the Leads goaltending has licked the left one since 2004.

Yeah. Have you watched him this season? And since mid last season?

Andersen has been pretty consistent except for the that final year. Yeah, he did occasionally give up those untimely softies at the worst times but he would also occasionally bail out the team when they gift those grade A chances.

They just have had a ton of bad luck when it mattered most.

So basically there is no excuse to not make the second round this year right? Such an ELITE team will surely impress and make it to the cup final at minimum right?

Freddy was fantastic with some high danger chances. Or standing on his head for the rebound. He was also fantastic at playing the puck. But I have to disagree with you on the softies. Occasionally wasn’t the case. It was quite frequent. And very untimely.

Holmberg is looking pretty good, but yeah to me it seems they could use an upgrade on Kerfoot or Engvall that can play 3C or 2LW unless Knies is the real deal. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he signs it would be after the deadline, right (assuming his team makes it to the frozen 4 finals)?

A message board about hockey would be shocked if you got
Less than 80% crappy responses and hate.

Even if they keep up the good play, it's easier said than done. They still might need to go through Tampa and Boston.

This is true. If someone is ever feeling good about themselves they should post on CF to be brought back down to the dumps.

Overall it wasn't frequent imo, it was just too frequent when it mattered. It's kind of like Gardiner's playoff mistakes.

The thing with Freddie when he was good he was good. But man sometimes this man couldnt stop a beachball especially in elimination games

Then his health came into question as we saw last year hurt and a non factor.
