-Not an awful deal, but if everyone's healthy I think Pittsburgh would pass. Assuming good health for everyone, they've got Letang and Marcus Petterssen under contract and would only need to fill LD3 - I don't think that they'd want to spend a 2nd rounder to upgrade their bottom pair when they could just sign a guy like Carson Soucy or Dmitry Kulikov for the same cap hit to play LD3 - and that's if PO Joseph isn't ready to step up into the position.
-I just don't see the value here for Vancouver. Boeser will only have 2x$6.65M left, and in the summer more teams will have free cap space to play with. Joel Armia is a cap dump that would cost at least a pair of 2nds for Montreal to dump - Boeser has as many points this season as Armia has going back to last season (and their defensive impacts are pretty similar.) Kovacevic is a 6th/7th D at best. Barron and a 2nd is fine, and might be enough for Vancouver to bite if that was the package on it's own, but adding Armia adds enough negative value that I don't see this happening.
-Farabee is a good young 50 point player with tons of affordable term. Mike Hoffman is pretty much a cap dump, Christian Dvorak is a 3C who can occasionally spell 2C in a pinch, and mid/late-round picks add nothing. Why does Philly do this trade? They're giving away a very good young player and adding about $4M in cap with older, less productive veterans. I know Chuck Fletcher is a bad GM, but I don't think he's *this* bad.
-The 2023 2nd is a good start, but Wideman isn't really a strong asset - he'll be a 33 year old 7th D on Nashville next season. I have to believe they're going to want something substantial back if they're moving a guy who can play a solid RD2 and has a few more years of team control.
