Quoting: Matty2005
They are reportedly going into a rebuild and they want cap and honestly kylingtion could turn into something if not it’s just free cap but Phillips is the ahl leading goal scorer he can definitely be something and a second that’s good
Matty my man...Let's break this down quickly...
-Kylington fills a very, very small need for the Nucks.
-Phillips being the leading scorer in the AHL is about as noteworthy as the color of my socks today (They're green!). Tell me who the last 6 leading scorers were in the AHL? Can't name 'em? Here's why:
27yo - Andrew Poturalski
29yo - T.J. Tynan
26yo - Sam Anas
26yo - Reid Boucher
23yo - Carter Verhaeghe
21yo - Jeremy Bracco
Now, Verhaeghe is obviously the outlier here...but what do the rest have in common? I'll give you a hint...they're all undersized. Another thing that they have in common? They're all career AHLer/Euro/now in the KHL. To think that 5'7'' 24 Y/O Matthew Phillips is going to buck the trend here is a big 'ol stretch my friend.
-A late 2nd? The probability of that pick playing over 100 games in the NHL is less than 40% (!!!).
-The cap space created by moving a few months of Bo Horvat is irrelevant.
Bo Horvat is on a heater right now. Vancouver needs GOOD futures, not a miss-mash of question marks and mediocrity.
