Realistic Deals for Van

Créé par: CapFriendlysFinest
Équipe: 2022-23 Canucks de Vancouver
Date de création initiale: 5 déc. 2022

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Transactions
1.
VAN
  1. Beauvillier, Anthony
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2023 (NYI)
Détails additionnels:
I think it is time for Beauvillier to move on. Like many top 6-9 forwards in their mid 20's, a change of scenery isn't always the worst. Van hopes he can help with the scoring on the wings
NYI
  1. Boeser, Brock
Détails additionnels:
Isles get a proper scoring winger to help with the offence. With the Isles being such a good defensive team, I feel like they can welcome someone who is not good in his own end without drastically hurting the team
2.
VAN
  1. Choix de 3e ronde en 2023 (VGK)
Détails additionnels:
Vegas gets good draft capital, however Schenn value isn't a third, which is why they send a sixth over to even the cost.
VGK
  1. Schenn, Luke
  2. Choix de 6e ronde en 2023 (VAN)
Détails additionnels:
Vegas gets a good, hard hitting defence man for their playoff run.
3.
VAN
  1. Benson, Tyler
  2. Broberg, Philip
  3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (EDM)
Détails additionnels:
Van gets a decent haul for their captain. A former first round pick in Broberg and Edmonton's up coming 1st rounder. It is tough to see the captain go however you need to get the value out of your players if you expect them to walk the next year. I fully believe their is not enough cap space to offer Horvat what he wants.
EDM
  1. Horvat, Bo (2 750 000 $ retained)
  2. Rathbone, Jack
Détails additionnels:
The big one, after the Miller signing (for better or worse) Horvat is likely the odd man out. Edmonton would love a scoring forward with the Kane injury and adding a responsible center/winger is key. Horvat has the chance to put up massive numbers with the Oilers but also helps their defensive stats. Rathbone comes for extra defence help.

The Value in the Horvat trade is fine but Van would have to take a cap dump piece as well for this to work

Since Kane is back on the ice, the thought that "Horvat replaces Kane", not really valid.,

Who does Edmonton have as a cap dump? Most of their players have large dollars with years attached, something that Van doesn't want. Likely would need to be a player on the last year of his deal

He's going be a long way out man. He never hurt his legs lol. I doubt he won't be shooting for another month and wont regain power for another two or so.

Valúes for each trade are under. Boeser is a lateral minus trade and makes no sense for Vancouver. Schenn is worth a 3rd. Bo is keeping scoring pace with McD this year, Rathbone and Broberg are one for one neutral trade, so Benson and a low 1st round pick....nope, not enough.

That's why their realistic, people expect the world when trading their players yet 90 percent of time deals turn out like this.

The Boeser deal is lateral, which is why I did it. He's clearly not happy with the team (management) and vice versa. You get a player back on a lesser deal with one less year.

I can tell you now, Schenn won't go for a third. He offers noting but big hits and the occasional shut down play. On nearly every playoff team, he's the 7th or 8th guy. No where close to a thirds value.

Horvat is the tricky one, yes he is on a huge heater right now. But throughout his career, he has never player like this and likely a one off season. What ever team trades for him, is using him as a rental. Getting a 1st back as well as a former 1st who is still incredibly young is great value for something like Horvat. What happens if he cools down, and goes back to his 50-60 point pace? Suddenly the idea of two first round pick values goes out the window.

They're realistic, not Van winning all the trades lol

They can definitely sign Horvat with Boeser going out for Beauvillier. The move saves 2.5m which the exact amount needed to give Horvat 8m.

That 3rd trade should be a Garland or Kuzmenko trade, realistically speaking it would have to be Kuzmenko.

Great job on the trades though.

He still has some value, I have no doubt that Van would love Poolparty but I think then the value given up is too high for Edmonton on a rental

The isles are not a good defensive team. Vanvouver has to add the sweetener if they want isles to take on boeser.

Totally fair, I personally think Van shouldn't trade Horvat, as he says he does not want to leave. If you can move Boeser and another piece to get Horvat his deal then that's great. I personally wouldn't give Horvat more then 7 million though, he has never had more than 61 points in a season

I think he takes 7mx8, it's the same as Miller so he won't feel disrespected. I think they offered him the RNH deal and so he decided to force their hands in either paying him or trading him by scoring a ton of goals.

Only way I’d consider that deal is if Bailey goes the other way. Dude has been horrendous this year.

Part of that may be because of the injury that has had him listed day to day, but it’s still not an excuse for this level of play.

Bailey has been brutal for 2 years now lol - I don't even know if I'd do Bailey for Boeser, rather just get someone else and buyout Bailey after the season. Boeser is an upgrade , but not by much.

He can still put up points. I feel like he’s gotten a bit of a raw deal in terms of linemates, and the Canucks d is just atrocious.

If the Canucks sign Horvat, I feel it would the same old mediocrity for the Canucks. So you pay him Horvat 2m more but his play isn't going to any better than it was this year. IMO they should trade him, and somehow adjust their roster next season with the new found cap. For the same reason, I thought it was mistake not trade Miller last year,

He’s been hurt a bit too. Look it would be a calculated risk doing that deal one for one. But I think the bottom line here is that neither of us would trade Beau for him lol.

If Boeser was on an expiring deal I’d take the risk. The fact that he has 3 years at around 7 mill per is too big of a risk
