Transactions
1.
MTL
  1. Foegele, Warren
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (EDM)
EDM
  1. Edmundson, Joel (1 750 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
EDM gets a cheap and reliable physical top 4 D for two years that is a proven playoff performer and that can eat minutes. They also get rid of Foegele and his contract.
2.
EDM
  1. Hoffman, Mike
Détails additionnels:
MTL has too many wingers, EDM wants to get rid of Barrie. Hoffman has some promising underlying numbers and could possibly rebound in EDM. Barrie could help MTL's abysmal PP. Both are on the exact same contract.
3.
MTL
  1. Bourgault, Xavier
  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (EDM)
Détails additionnels:
Foegele and Barrie added to relive cap space.
EDM
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. Choix de 4e ronde en 2023 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
EDM gets a fast, physical scoring winger and relive some dead cap for a late 2024 second and a good, but not untradeable forward prospect.

Oilers accept the 1st and 3rd trades. Anderson's price tag if moved will be massive! Rishaug is reporting that Holland would be paying at least a 1st for Edmundson so that is the low end if there is no bidding war which could happen at the TDL as a lot of GMs love Edmundson.
Hoffman still isnt worth Barrie though. You need to retain on Hoffman at 50% and probably add a pick like a 4th so they can flip it for another asset. Hoffman is simply dead money that Montreal will have to buyout or to pay to move out Hoff's salary

On Rishaug poscast, they talked about Edmundson for EDM 2023 1st or Bourgault and a 4th. They also talked adding Puljujarvi as a cap dump.

Bourgault's Potential Is Way Higher That Anderson's Ever Was... No Need To Trade Bourgault Right Now... Swap Him Out With Yamamoto And We Might Accept... Foegele+2023 2nd Round Pick In Whats Considered A Deep Draft Should Be Good Enough To Acquire Edmonson With 50% Retention For Edmonson's Contract... I Don't Really See Any Point In Trading Barrie For Hoffman... That Doesn't Make Either Teams Better In Any Ways

LOL which one? I mean many said Lehkonen was overrated and I think many got that one wrong! Edmundson certainly is having an awful year and the hype is still out there and ppl would be as foolish to dismiss it as many were with Chiarot last year! I said countless times that Chiarot is going for a 1st rounder and yet ppl were still surprised!

lol Bourgault isnt Holloway lets not get crazy. Hes a top9 forward at best in all likehood if you want to talk about another Oilers overrated prospect ala Tyler Benson. I dont think Anderson gets traded unless Holloway is involved

Holland traded a 2nd for Kulak whom was also below Edmundson on the depth chart and in/out of MTL lineup. There is no way in hell Edmundson gets moved for a 2nd and a cap dump. I realize that is what YOU want the return to be but it isnt realistic. The price will be higher than the Kulak return unless Hughes doesnt play his cards right which he's shown he can leverage after last TDL

Edmonton isn't overpaying for Hoffman and Anderson. Neither guy is worth his cap hit and you want assets in return? LOL.

Well, that's flat out false. They were both 3rd pair defensemen when on the same roster (by 5v5 TOI) but Kulak had FAR superior underlying numbers than Edmundson. And it was Edmundson who missed significant time.
