Pretty sure there is a roster limit. Most of these guys also wouldn't clear waivers so you'd loose them again for nothing

if Bertuzzi gets traded it will be for more than a late round 1st no matter how you value him. There are enough teams that will easily pay more for him.

I would do it as a Buffalo fan if we then traded those picks + some mid prospect for player like Connor Murphy.

I seriously doubt Roz is available for so little. Especially to the Penguins.

There are a handful of teams where Bertuzzi would be perfect for and the Penguins are one of them. PIT, BOS, DAL, TOR & certainly more will be vying for his services.

With that being said; he needs to get healthy, and he needs to get back on track offensively when he does return.

If he doesn’t do either of those things, he will be traded for pennies on the dollar.

If he returns and plays like the player we know him to be, the return would be a 2023 1st round pick and a couple more components.

Example packages would be:

2023 1st round pick
“B” prospect
“C” roster player

2023 1st round pick
“B+” prospect
Depth NHL/AHL player (likely cap related)

Future 1st OR 2nd/3rd round pick
“A” prospect
Possible cap dump depending on draft pick compensation.
