No thanks from Detroit. Not trading a lottery pick for Horvat. Detroit isn't ready to make moves like this yet.

Other teams have cap issues too. Really can't give away players cause you don't want them. That is one horrendous trade by the Wings. If they want him, they can sign him next summer without giving up so many good futures.

Those first two are awful for the Canucks

Now these are the cbj trades I like. Lol definitely undervaluing boeser. While he hasn’t been great, he’s still got some value. Nyquist is a rental and maybe is worth a second and a prospect.

I know the value is heavily in the Canucks' favor on the Columbus trade, but I also don't see Jarmo making that move. Gus is basically the team's only player over 30 at this point after losing Voracek and I think the leadership he provides on a very young team is probably more valuable than his actual on-ice production.

Between that and the number of games Boeser ends up missing seemingly every year, plus contract size, plus his being Yet Another One-Way Winger going to a team that has too many one-way players as is... yeah, I think I'd rather take the futures.

Gotta finish in the bottom 10 for the lottery now. At worst, the Wings are a bubble playoff team this year.

But I don't see Yzerman giving up assets for a player that he can acquire in free agency, not at this stage of their progression.

Can still win the lottery and move up 10 spots. Other players than Bedard that would be very worth while.

Fair enough, just thought Horvat to Detroit might seem sensible in case Dylan Larkin's commitment beyond this season is called into question come trade deadline, and if he will accept the Roope Hintz deal, he'd probably be signed by now. Horvat should at least be cheaper to extend long-term, but I don't see Detroit really being in on the lottery, I don't think they're bad enough for it.

Unless they keep up this play, which I don't think they will, they probably won't be a playoff team. With better teams like the rangers, panthers and capitals on their heals I think they just miss and any team outside the playoffs can win in the lottery, only can gain 10 picks but picking at 5 or 15 would be huge. Also Yzerman stated that he wants to add more picks for this draft so I could see some of the current players being moved.
