I think this is a pretty decent trade. Though i disagree that Anderson’s contract is worse than carlsons.

No thanks.

The habs already have to many dmen who need icetime to add another body. They are already sitting 1 productive dman a night and barron is still in the minors along with struble who will be coming in a few months.

The habs have more lineup flexibility to keep a forward vs dman

Didnt you throw a tantrum a few years ago when i suggested Carlsons contract wasnt a good one?

You kept saying something about how age curves were BS?

And now here you are dumping him for an awful contract.

Why is everybody overvaluing a third line winger who has one 40 point season in his career??

Carlson last 149gp he has 128p .86ppg. thats pretty incredible... his defense is where i have an issue but Habs dont have a true #1 dmen on their roster yet.

Aderson last 142 gp he has 63p. he has half as many points as Carlson and actually has worse defensive numbers. id say his contract is much worse than Carlson's

You are dumping him for one of the worst contracts in the league and really still trying to say i was wrong that the contract was bad because it would age poorly?

You don’t need to fill me in on his hockeydb page. I’ve watched him play. He’s awful. Absolute liability at 5 on 5.

I think in this we acknowledge that both players have negative value.

more about saving cap space than anything. Anderson game fits the heavy Washington style so i think he could find his game better here

at 36 gio just won the Norris ....and his early career stats aren't better than Carlson....short sighted? no im actually smart enough to understand every player is different and that Carlson is elite.... his deal at 8 million by 2023/2024 wount be anything crazy....similar to the Matt nisk deal currently.. but hey stay negative I dont blame you being a leafs fan smile

So yes.

You are short sighted. Glad we could hammer that out.

i think where we differ is... atm Anderson deal looks and absolutely is bad but his game fits the heavy slow Capitals system. im more optimistic that he can find his game here. Carlson tbh hasnt changed its not like his play has jumped off a cliff or that hes playing worse defensively. hes still a 60-70p player who is average to below average at defense. i believe you said his numbers were due for a substantial dip and this would look terrible in a few years. his stats are pretty linear and his defense is the same. more just frustration bc we dont have a guy that can compensate for his lack of defense like we use to. if capitals didnt more Seig and we had an elite level defender i would never move him but MF isnt that guy. BUT solid arent you the guy that said Wilson contract sucked ? we can play all day but unlike myself you are forgettable so i dont remember you lol

he was obviously wrong and has yet to admit it but its fine..... im not mad just like to help people understand when they are wrong. they are examples of talent that ages poorly and talent that ages well its impossible to tell. but Nash is in a win now mode so they are going to sign the talent. it would be dumb to let an elite talent walk over 2 years or 1 million dollars..... lets say the win a cup in the next 5 years. totally worth it

Did you say Carlson is bad contract at 32?

LMFAO wow you live on this site and i must have really upset you... i feel bad for you. Carlson right now is a 60p 8m NHL Dman. you said his numbers would dip substantially. this is also w the Capitals having 40m on IR. smile

I don't think most fans of any team would agree with me but I don't think that either of these contracts are all that bad. Top pairing D men get on average 7+ mil and RHD get more than LHD so an 8 Mil 32 yo RHD is a great deal, I mean look at Hamilton, Karlsson and Doughty alone. Also on average a top 6 RW power forward makes in the range of 4-6 Mil so Anderson is at the higher end but still not as over paid as many believe. I think the Habs would make this deal even if 1. we had to add a 2nd or 3rd and 2. we had to move out another D man or two for futures.

I look at our D now vs how it would look with Carlson and this is what I see

Matheson-Savard
Edmundson-Guhle
Harris-Xhekaj/Kovacevic/Wideman

Guhle-Carlson
Matheson-Savard
Harris-Xhekaj/Kovacevic

You tell me which one looks better, I think I would take the right side over the left and move Eddy and Wideman. Even if you put Matheson with Carlson the D is much much better with Savard moved back to 2 RD.

buddy post from one account i dont need your burner sending me massages also... bc you have 2 accounts that agree doesnt mean there are more than 1 person its just you on 2 different accounts... makes it more weird you need that validation

lol or its just a more playful way to say his contract is better than Anderson's? either way you are really upset about something that happened years ago. Carlson is a 8m $ d man that is average at D and scores 60-70ps a year, im mad caps lost last night but overall no hes a solid offensive D man who is average at D... 8M for that production is still in the good range. there smile no save this for another 2 years lmfao i know you will bc this site is your life..its sad. IM MORE INTERESTED how you have Multi accounts

Carlson is still pretty elite offensive Dman. i just think Anderson could be a Wilson 2.0 and if Wilson leaves we could still have a similar type player. I think Habs jump on this immediately
