Jes moves for a 2nd rounder to shed salary to MTL

The Oilers sell the farm to acquire Jake Chychrun

A player swap between Toronto and Edmonton sees the Leafs move Simmonds to a team that needs some swagger along with a 5th in exchange for a bottom 6 PK and faceoff specialist, some one who can play on their roster, something they feel Simmonds cannot do.

EDM flips Tyson Barrie to FLA to run their struggling PP, in exchange the Oil get Radko Gudas to add some much needed beef to their back end. Oile send MTL's 2nd to FLA in the trade.

Jack Campbell to minors bc stopping pucks seems like is just optional to him. Hope someone claims tbh.

based on what I've seen that's even more than what AZ is asking for. Did that to blow their doors off and ensure EDM gets the player.

Leafs aren't trading for Oilers depth pieces along with attaching a pick. Easy decline from the Leafs end. He wouldn't even be in the Leafs roster

Toronto is getting the better depth player that they could just toss on waivers if they choose. I don't really care for the trade just pointing out its the only trade here that Edmonton could look at best of multiple really bad ideas.

Derek Ryan wouldn't even be a healthy scratch on the Leafs, he's an AHLer but just plays on the Oilers third line. I would rather have Simmonds

So be it... Edmonton keeps the better and more versatile player... never said it was a good idea only that it was most sensible of the trades listed.
