Names and Beau I wouldn't consider to be worth a fourth rounder together let alone adding Zadina.

Why are the Kings giving up a 1st round pick and a top quality prospect for a fringe NHL goaltender?

They are both UFAs. It's like we are paying a 4th to move Zadina

Two pending UFAs for Zadina and a 4th round pick? That's totally laugh Names and Beau aren't worth the 4th round pick alone . Let alone giving up a cost controlled Zadina for basically nothing.

Winnipeg is not getting rid of Heinola for a 7th defenseman they've already had and let walk, and a 4th liner they already have plenty of.

Highly doubt Verbeek trades a power forward for an undersized one anyways

Petersen just cleared waivers, so he can spend the rest of the season in Ontario with no negative effect on Los Angeles. Stolarz is worth a third in a pinch. If I try hard enough, I can imagine a circumstance in which the Kings might need the $3,875,000 in cap space for another acquisition, and thus might dump Petersen with a future second for Stolarz, but the rest of that proposition is cuckoo.

Because our "fringe NHL goaltender" has been out playing your starter of the future, both this season and last season, and cost less than 1/5 the price.

It's an overpay to be sure, but cut the crap about Stolarz being barely NHL level, he's a solid NHL backup on a great contract.

There are any number of backup goaltenders that can be had for next to nothing that are just as good. The Kings can get Khudobin from Dallas for future considerations.

They're not ready to give up on Petersen. They just can't afford to have him play in the NHL until he can find his game again. He's going to get the lion's share of starts in Ontario over the next couple months to rebuild his confidence. I expect to see him back on the Kings next season, if not later this season.

There really aren't. If Khudobin was available for FC, Vegas would have gotten him. There's Brossoit, but he was brutal since coming back from hip surgery, 0.871 at the AHL level in 7 games. Maybe you can get Korpisalo from the Jackets, but he isn't experiencing a bad streak, he has just been bad his whole NHL career.

Stolarz is a good backup, and he has a cheaper cap hit than anyone else that might be available. OP is off in off in crazy town with all the trades in this ACGM, but that doesn't mean Stolarz isn't a NHL level goaltender, or that he isn't a valuable trade asset.

Hopefully Cal can get his groove back with Ontario, otherwise that contract is going to look real bad.

lol, all these poo-pooers.

I like the TB trade. Verbeek could have a big year if he plays his cards right

Khudobin cleared waivers less than 2 months ago. He's eating up cap space in the minors. They'll be happy to be rid of him.
