CBJ says no. Ceulemans is a RD who is near a ppg in NCAA. Krebs has potential but has yet to show it on the NHL level. I am not Krebs hater but CBJ would need a bit more IMO.

An 11 game sample size is ridiculously small to draw conclusions from though

Yeah unless I new he was signing I wouldn't do this trade. Kids already a Sophomore I believe. If he signs and the way the Sabres don't seem to want to use Krebs I would do the deal then.

Maybe, we need RDs, but I don’t want to give up Krebs so early either. I was more inclined to trade Krebs in a trade that would immediately improve our top 4 D.

I think some Sabres fans would be open to it bc we seem to be impatient with Krebs
I don’t think Sabres mgmt would do it though
Krebs was a “must have” piece in the Eichel trade, & idk that we’re ready to give up on him
He’s still very young
Just needs some more development

31 points in 44 games (9 points in 11 games this season) doesn't really count as near a ppg imo. That being said Krebs isn't have a great year after showing flashes of being a very solid young playmaker last year.

Better prospect swap would be Krebs for Foudy, not Cuelamens.

Krebs for Foudy and a 3rd or something.

As a fan of both teams. Columbus would have to add much more.

Like, Krebs for Foudy + 2023 2nd + Knazko

Contributing factors to Krebs play though
They gotta get him on a stable line & let him play
Jerking him around is crazy to me

Using an 11game sample size for anything is laughable
Way too small of a sample size to know anything

"(9 points in 11 games this season) doesn't really count as near a ppg imo." He has also grown from like .65 ppg to .82. He is also a defenseman. He is also a right shot. He is also not known for his offense. He is known for his physicality and off-puck play.

I like Krebs and think that he will be just fine, but RD value outweigh defenseman 9/10 times.

I mean...I would be considering this offer...now if you want an immediate impact and want say a Peeke your gonna need to send something back out way as Peeke is looking to be a Second Line RHD. Now I would probably get SLAUGHTERED, no...I will be, by the CBJ fans for maybe dangling this out there but Blankenburg could be a potential trade piece. Before I get pelted for even bringing up the idea I feel like front office isn't completely sold on the kid yet due to his size and its starting to get really crowded on our right side with Jiricek/Ceulemans in the pipeline and FO might see that as an interesting flip.

If our org isn’t serious with Blankenburg, they’re silly.

I know it’s been a limited sample but since joining the team he has EASILY been the 2nd best dman besides Werenski that we have. Maybe you could make the argument for peeke.

The only issue with Blankenburg so far isn't size, it's injuries and availability.

Don't get me wrong I love the kid to the point he's one of my favorites but I just get vibes he's not in their long term plans. That right side is starting to fill up really quick especially when the two prospects start to develop. If I had the choice (outside of a buyout for Gudbranson but that comes when Jiricek is truely ready) that I would trade Bovquist out but doesn't seem like there is a market for offensive RHD who has known injury issues and CBJ put alot of resources into him compared to a Blankenburg...that's why I feel like he's the "expendable" one but if he is dealt the 5th line would rightfully lose their mind. I was just putting out a middle ground for a potential flip for a much needed position that CBJ needs to develop (Center) for a player who can play "now" but not that deep in cost value to the organization...that's all

He needs stability, and honestly could use 30 more games in the AHL. He makes too many risky plays that result in turnovers. He's great on the forecheck and has a high motor, but he needs to simplify his game a bit. Making blind passes into the slot are great when they work, but the rarely do for him because guys aren't in position to receive them.

It might be a great trade for the Sabres
Just don’t know if we wanna move Krebs atm

And an 11game sample size isn’t big enough to say ****,
so calling the guy an “almost ppg player” is goofy to me
Not that the guy isn’t offensively gifted,
just wouldn’t read much into such a small amount of games
