I would give up a decent piece to get Lorio, I think he would fit nicely. If there not gonna use him, I might give them Krebs.

In fact, I don't know much about Iorio and Lundmark other than their draft scouting reports. But it seems they suit us as a defender type.

Don't know if Iorio would be available at this stage, as he's definitely one of the Caps best overall prospects (I'd have him behind Miroshnichenko and Lapierre only at this point), and with Jensen and Van Riemsdyk expiring at the end of the year at RD, he could be in line to start in the NHL next year. Washington also does not have a lot of depth at RD prospect-wise, with only Chesley and Brent Johnson being viable options in all likelihood (I don't see Hugo Has or anyone else on the RD side challenging for a spot), so I can't see them moving Iorio at this time.

I think you could get Cal Foote without much trouble though, I've seen him go for cheap recently in other ACGMs.

Foote's a 2 the person posting that is one person who is a hater. He's also had Myers being a second pairing ,but the coaching staff is healthy scratching him more often and least time on ice. So take what he says with a pound of salt.

So can he be available and what would be cost?

Couldn't agree more - I actually typed out the following but deleted because I didn't know Iorio's worth...

"Iorio is having a great year in the AHL and was totally impressive during camp. I would say he is almost untouchable for the Caps, as they only have 2 real RHD prospects in the pipeline. Also, I expect him to compete for NHL starting time next year, and his cheap contract will certainly be enticing for the Caps. Due to this, I think his worth is really difficult to say."

But if you had to say his worth, what would you say? Taking into account that Caps would really really have to be blown away by the offer...

Maybe a top 6 winger, and a 2nd? I truly don't know

If they were to take something of his worth, I doubt they would get anything more than a 2nd, though this isn't in any way a knock on Iorio. We all know he's been tearing it up in the AHL and Caps brass seems to love him, but unfortunately a guy who's never played an NHL game and was a 2nd round pick probably won't get any more than a 2nd from teams imo. It sucks, since I see him becoming a bonafide top 4 defenseman, but I just can't see a team paying that much for him alone. Best value I think the Caps could get would be a Lundkvist type trade, a 1st and nothing else.

I think he'd end up much more valuable to teams if he's used to buy an assest, rather than selling just Iorio.

Don't see Iorio moved unless its as one of the main pieces in a package for an established top 6 forward. Obviously BUF wouldn't move him, but Tuch is the only real guy in that range that Buffalo has. Iorio is a non first round prospect who has developed ahead of schedule and is really well liked by Caps brass -- those are the exact kind of guys that you wouldn't get lots of value from moving but do from keeping and hoping they pan out.

Speaking of ideas, maybe Buffalo could look to LA for a deal? With their surplus of young defensemen, perhaps Spence could become available for Buffalo. I don't know how much it would cost, but maybe Buffalo sends a forward prospect for Spence?

I literally did that yesterday, but the LA fans basically let me know that Spence is very good and mostly not available.

Maybe Buffalo and LA are not very good trading partners because they need proven and good top 4 LD and we don't have those and we obviously don't trade Samuelsson or Power. So I took into account their weaknesses in the pipeline of prospects, this is the LD and goalies and offered them the prospects of LD and goaltender. Maybe Grans was more approachable than Spence, who knows.

That's fair, maybe they'd be ok with dealing Walker instead? probably would end up being cheaper to acquire than Spence. I don't know though, it seems like LA would be more approachable to Spence than their fans let on, since that right side already has Doughty, Durzi, Clarke, Walker, and Roy. Might be too optimistic however. I think they could also be interested in Ryan Johnson.

Walker is not an improvement for us. Durzi seems too offensive D, although he might fit. One of Roy, Spence and Grans would probably be interesting.

I heard on a Blue Jackets podcast that because of Peeke, Gudbranson, and Blankenburg on the right side, Adam Boqvist could be available when he gets healthy. That's a young guy that all 31 other teams should be calling about

Yes, but we need a more defensive defenseman, and Boqvist appears to be a offensive D who moves puck. A guy like Andrew Peeke would be a much better fit than Bokvist, but he doesn't seem available.
