More then fair enough offer for Schenn, if the Canucks decide they want to move him I think they take it

If EDM is gonna give up a 1st for Domi (they're not, but for the sake of discussion), they're absolutely going to require 50% cap retention to open up space for another move to bolster the roster. In my opinion, that asset is better spent elsewhere.

Best thing the Oilers could do it trade for both Anderson and Edmundson.

Anderson would score 30 goals next to McDavid, skate fast enough to play with him and would do the dirty work. Edmundson would be an upgrade over Kulak on 2LD.

MTL could take Puljujarvi and Barrie, and even give you Kovacevic as a 3RD to replace Barrie. They would even retain 50% on Edmundson, giving you extra cap space.

Adding those players would give the Oilers so much size. All three are over 6'3 220. You could have all that for your 2023 1st and one of Bourgault or Holloway.

Anderson is not fast enough to keep up with McD, that's the problem with finding wingers for McD.

The trade you're proposing looks like Barrie, Pool-party, a 1st and Bourgault for Anderson, Edmundson (50%), and Kovacevic..... yeah, that's too much for too little and doesn't provide any actual material cap relief to Edmonton to make it happen

I could see Barrie and Bourgault for Anderson and a 3rd work out though.

Yeah Idk about all this Anderson talk in the comments because what a strange contract to want to take on for the value of the player…
But to the original post, Domi for a 1st and Puljujarvi? Little steep, no?

No, a lot steep for Domi. Anderson doesn't play to his contract now, and the future doesn't make it better

Anderson for a 1st or Bourgault is fine. Dumping Barrie for a year and a half would cost something more.
