I think value wise it’s fine, it’s just the Canucks have no incentive to move Hughes and it would take a huge overpay. Nemec and Holtz would be a great offer though

They’re very similar, Jack probably a bit more valuable, but that’s realistically the only scenario I’d see the Canucks moving EP to NJ (which obviously is a totally unrealistic and hypothetical situation)

They're similar in terms of current play. Hughes better two-way, Pettersson better offensively this season. Both borderline top 10 centers

Jack has more value due to his fantastic contract and higher upside. When Pettersson comes off his bridge deal, he's going to ask for close to 10M while Hughes makes 2M less than him

Holtz, Alexander - can barely hold his head above water in the NHL, good in the AHL but probably a 3rd liner in the end
Nemec, Simon - too soon to tell, hes the only piece of any significant value
Stillman, Chase - not even point per game in the WHL as a D+2. might be a Quad A guy

Nemec is worth 2 mid firsts, the other guys are worth mid round picks.

Hughes is one of the top defenders in the league
