Detroit declines. Donskoi isn't even playing in the NHL due to being injured. He scored a big 2 goals in 75 games for Seattle last season.

You can probably get a little more for Neito. He is one of the best penalty killers in the league and teams need those.

Dealing Sharangovich in a Meier trade is pretty much a self defeating purpose, especially so when they’re adding a 1st, 2nd and Bahl to it.
Hope Devils wouldn’t consider this if offered.

1, sharangovich, Bahl for Meier: I consider that hard

2, Blackwood, Johnsson for Reimer: that’s rich. Really rich. But if we’re still a top team in the league, maybe.

I'm inclined to agree.
However, other than not knowing the shape of Meier's extension (and if there would be any at all), the 1st rd pick added is a big issue for me.
Any team having a 1st rd pick in the upcoming draft will have a bigger chance than usual to walk away with a special player.

Winnipeg happily accepts, but it at least has to be a deadline deal. You don't want a guy from Long Beach in Winnipeg during the winter.

With how late our pick is going to be, Meier is very likely to be better than whoever we pick. The top 10 of this draft is insane. After that, it’s a normal class lol

How is that rich? Blackwood sucks, the only value he has is the potential that he can turn it around. Johnsson is a cap dump. Getting a legit 1B who can step in and take workload off Vanecek and cover for him if hes hurt is way more valuable than what Blackwood could ever do.

You really think Blackwood will get a QO with arbitration rights? It seems like guys like him are being sent to ufa cause teams dont think theyre worth going to arbitration for

I think a team would take a shot on his rights.

The only goalie I can think of who did that is Samsonov, and that can very easily be chalked up to Brain MacLellan taking all the stupid pills and bending to inane morons that whined about Samsonov for the last 2 seasons. While 3,6 isn't a great QO for Blackwood, It seems realistic enough that the Devils could risk it and bank on him going back to past performance rather than letting him go for nothing, if no team wants to deal for Blackwood in a trade.
