"...if the Pittsburgh Penguins want to move Kasperi Kapanen, his value is no longer a first-round pick in return
but includes a tethered first-rounder to facilitate the deal.
No, that’s not fair, but the few GMs with cap space realized their value, and the demand for their cap space is not going down."

Interesting

Buffalo declines, Kapanen is softer than Olofsson and lacks any outstanding traits. Olofsson can shoot at very least

I wouldn't do that trade for Buffalo, we really don't need anymore Wingers, and that prospect is blah!!

Amen, I say amen.
While sending a first to move Kasperi may be a bit hyperbolic, getting Olofsson for ONLY a second and Kasperi is not enough for me.
Over the past two seasons (including this one) Olofsson has only five fewer goals than Kapanen has over his last four seasons.
Playing for Pittsburgh, Victor may very well reach 30 or more goals this year.
Drop Nathan and the second and replace them with this years first (protected of course), Buffalo can retain enough of Victor's salary to balance the caps.
Buffalo's first GM and coach always said, you do not trade goals. It was true then it is true now.
Well that is my three cents worth, probably worth less than that.
