I would be interested in Niederreiter but not for that package. Remove the 1st or remove Robertson and I would be happy. That first would also need to be top 10 protected at minimum

1st + 3rd + cap would be more than fair in my mind. But even then, it's a lot to pay.

I think there is something there but also that a lot of Nashville (and Nino) fans would disagree. Not to mention that from an outside fans perspective, Robertson's value probably isn't as high as we think. Maybe that in itself is reason not to trade him right now though.

I would send Robertson to the Marlies for the season, he needs ice-time, he really hasn't played a lot of games over the past 2 years with his injuries. Next year give him his shot for a 40-game stretch if he doesn't show potential get rid of him.

Thats a pretty hefty price to pay for someone who you then put on the 3rd line. I guess with two years left on his deal that makes this trade okay. Also Nash isn't going to be selling.

On the contrary, I put him on the third line because I think he is good enough to elevate that line and give the Leafs really valuable minutes. The Leafs main problem in last years playoffs was depth scoring, I think Nino brings enough energy and positive results to make the Leafs a real 3 or 4 line team.

I agree with you for the most part, but the Leafs have a decent track record of developing young talent. There is definitely value in having him in the NHL and playing every third game (not to mention he seems to want to stay here).

I also think from the Leafs' perspective, he is the best available 13th man. As a contender, you theoretically want to employ your best roster everyday and hes included in that.
