Kane is a first ballot hall of famer, but he’s 34 and has 3 goals. Nylander is 26 and has 13 goals + way better underlying metrics across the board.
You want to try to add Kane at TDL, go for it but to trade Nylander + a 1st for him makes absolutely no sense.

3 goals playing on a demoralizing team. Kane is a balloon that is deflating by the day. I can almost guarantee if Nylander is on the Hawks the same thing happens to him.

Even if that's true, why wouldn't a gm acquiring Kane take advantage of the fact that Kane's NMC will limit him to certain teams and his numbers being poor? Even if he was doing well, the point of rentals is to add them to your team to improve. Taking away from the team's core to add a rental makes no sense.
