Description
These may be the best options for the Canucks to move out cap space but also add prospects to a slim pool. Myers and Pearson aren't attracting any attention. Garland and Boeser are very talented but the glut of wingers allows for this option. The glut includes Hoglander, Podkolzin and maybe even Linus Karlsson waiting for their chance to fill in these roles. Adding futures and a player like Kerfoot (extremely versatile) are options the team might consider this season. Also, the cap is now wide to re-sign Bo and Kuzmenko.

I've got to imagine the Leafs would be all over that to add a top 6 scoring winger and look to add a center who could fill in the top 6 incase of injury elsewhere.

I just don't know if the Leafs could afford the cap of Boesner this year, or really the years after that. The Leafs have don't really have mid to high centre prospects after Minten. Can't see him being part of any trade package. The only other centre prospect is Hirovan and you included him too in the trade.

I was looking at the deadline cap space projection. With Muzzin on LTIR, it would accommodate Boeser and Kerfoot makes it more doable. I get the prospect take and I thought about picks but the Leafs are a bit light there. Ended up listing what has been reported as not their top noted prospects from Knies, Niemela and Robertson. Similarly, Canucks could use center prospects.

Just a couple points that I think important from the Leafs prospects. This summer LWers Bunting, Kerfoot and Engvall are all UFAs, which make LWers Knies and Robertson even more important to keep.
Plus having 6.75m Boesner would certainly mean the Leafs wouldn't have cap to resign Bunting and maybe others
Niemela. Yeah he two years away from the NHL. But in two years, only Liljgren will like be a RHD. Brodie may be gone or retired, the same as Holl. Hollowell has surprised me in his few games as Leafs, so maybe he's a possible RHD, though his smaller size and advance age 24, makes me think he may never be an NHLer.
Yeah you're right about Leafs being light on picks. How has trading futures at TDL worked out for the Leafs in the past six years?

For sure! It's been tough past half decade but there's a lot going now and next year. High expectations, contending team (sure the first round exits are a punch in the gut) and some cap space to work with including additional LTIR to pump the cap ceiling. Nylander-Matthews-Marner, Robertson-Tavares-Boeser, Bunting/Knies/Jarnkrok/Holmberg/Kampf a couple more fourth liners and it's solid.
