Description
Fantasy projection. So... I know.
There is a grand total of ZERO chances that the lineup looks like this in 2 years.

I said it first, so no need to react all 'woke-like"

Also... Fantilli???? Habs have very very slim chances of landing him. Close to zero also.

This is just for Habs fans to imagine

Why did we throw away Kovacevic? Isn't he playing well?

        He is.

Who do you take out on defence to make him a place?

And THANK YOU for understanding that this IS pure fantasy.

I kept Matheson instead to have AT LEAST one veteran voice in that group hehe... and his contract is also looking decent.

You need 8 defenders to compete in this league (cause of injuries and whatnot). I keep em all plus Kovacevic and ditch Evans or RHP.

Goddam it I’d love Fantilli. Would be perfect.
Not impossible that we land him. We will likely fall to 8th by end of season so a bit of luck. If we have:
        8th overall (ours)
        16th overall (floridas)
        30th overall (another teams somehow)

I’d trade all 3 for 2nd overall. Now THAT would be unlikely but I would so do that for Fantilli. I think even prefer him of Bedard.

Totally agree with you. That means that at some point, Barron needs to be traded. His value is not great I think.
And have Matheson patrol left or right depending on injuries.

I also think Dichow might surprise down the road.

Also, hopefully Habs can find a way to rise during the draft... and maybe pick goalie Hrabal at the end of the 1st round for a possible Monahan return?

I feel a bit bad for the Goalies playing in Europe. they don't start much. I wish Dichow played more games.

Dude, I'm also dreaming of a scenario like this. Heck, there's already a 1st rounder in 2025 lined up for Monahan.
Might as well have all 3 1st round picks bundled up (adding maybe Struble or Norlinder - we have too many LHD) and getting that 2nd.
That's the only thing we really need. A solid center.
        However..... a 2nd overall pick in that draft might be worth... all 3 1st round ppicks, a 2nd, a 3rd, a 4th, a 5th... lol... and I WOULD do it if I was Hugues.

Have you seen Beck, Hutson, Guindon. HuGo is surgical with his picks and he's swinging for the fences on all of them Don't be so quick to dismiss what a great 2nd can bring. Look at Patrice Bergeron...

I agree with the premise but I don’t think players like Norlinder and Struble move the needle at all when we talk about players like Fantilli. Even the 2nd round pick is worthless or represents such little value when talking about someone like Fantilli.

        If I had 2nd overall, I wouldn’t trade it for 8th + 16th + 30th even in a draft as good as this one. I wouldn’t do it.

He’s that good. The only centres that I think will likely be better than him in 3 years are Matthews , Mackinnon, Mcdavid. He could very well be in that tier, if not, he’s just below there

I know you didn’t just advocate to holding on to late picks because of players like cedrick Guindon when a player like Fantilli is available. I know you didn’t just do that…

If you want to have fun, google 1999 NFL Draft and what the New Orleans Saints did. They traded their entire draft for pick 5.
I'd do that if I was Hughes.

They would probably still say no lol

No GM is trading that pick. I mean having a player of that caliber under team control for a minimum salary, there's nothing better.
