Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

This trade would have to include an extension on both sides for Horvat and Severson. Horvat would essentially be playing the role that Haula is rn. Takes the faceoffs but plays the wing on the transition. This lineup would be as if the trade were made today which is why Palat, Bastian, and Blackwood are out of the lineup. When they return, my lineup would be the following:

Horvat- Hughes- Mercer
Tatar- Hischier- Bratt
Palat- Haula- Sharangovich
Wood- McLeod- Bastian

Not sure I like Bo playing wing. Wouldn’t make much sense and this move would definitely make it harder to resign everybody

You're not getting an extended Horvat for Severson and a 1st and 3rd, Besides Horvat is a C not LW and you're looking at between 8 x $8,000,000 to 8 x $8,500,000 to sign him.

I think 7x7 is reasonable for Horvat; identical to Landeskog. Horvat has a career high 61 points; that doesn't warrant 8m+

Horvat doesn't make a ton of sense for NJ, just trade for a winger if that's what you want. It will most likely be cheaper anyways. Besides idk why Vancouver would want a ufa to be dman at this point.

He's also on pace for a career year, Good luck getting him at 7x7m because it's not happening. All reports out of Vancouver are that he wants either 8x8m or 8x8.5m

Going after Meier makes far more sense than Horvat he's not signing in NJ to play LW when most of his career has been at 2C.

Playing Horvat on the wing would be a waste imo, he's a natural centremen

If he keeps up this season he's gonna get paid. Kadri got 7 million after 1 season of production and he was 32, a 28 year old Horvat will clean up.

I’m sure Horvat could play wing. Probably not where he would maximize his earning potential though.

I think salary comps were guys like Danault, Cirelli, Trocheck, Strome, Nelson, Schmaltz coming into this season. Around $5.8m to $6.5m range. If he keeps up the scoring, maybe gets a boost (maybe Kadri’s 7 x $7 million?).

Horvat is not a fit in Jersey, unless you are ready to give up high assets and make in your 3rd line center. I really like the idea of a hughes, hiscier, horvat trio that would be hard for any team to beat in the playoffs and protects you from injury problems. Alas gms are rarely that bold and horvat likely says no if he has any protection(not sure).
