That trade is basically Xhekaj for Edmonton 2023 1st. Broberg is a bust and all the other pieces are cap dumps.

Broberg a bust isn't at all, he would have made the opening night lineup if he didn't get injured and is gonna be the Oilers 2nd pair LD for a long time

and in what world is Yamamoto a cap dump

In a world where he's got 3 assists in 13 games, and Edmonton need cap space and top 6 help.

Lmao Barron our best prospect not in the NHL lmfao
I would take Sean Farrell, Owen Beck, Lane Hutson, Filip Mesar and maybe Joshua Roy and Logan Mailloux as well over Justin Barron if I had to choose

Which is my entire point. There isn't a straight line to development. Calling a 21 year old a bust is a stupid thing to say. Especially a Dman.
Referencing Broberg as a bust is like saying the other 2 Habs players are busts. They are certainly not.

Habs 100% decline.

Anyone out there thinking that a team wouldn't want to DRAFT a Xhekaj with a mid-1st rounder has not watched him play.
That player, at 21, is already projected to be a Habs for 15+ years and not leave the lineup.

All the head shaking, loud sighs, etc, won't cut it. The rest is fog in that trade; it's Xhekaj for a 1st, and Habs aren't doing that.

He's the player the Habs would pray they pick with Edmonton's 1st rounder.
