Also that guys like Miro, Makar, Hischier, Pettersson were all late risers.
None of them started their draft year as definite 1st rounders.

Just wait for the inevitable "2024 is terrible" for the same reasons

Makes sense why they weren't rated as highly. Pretty sure Makar was in a lower level league like the AJHL and Pettersson was viewed as small, weak, bad shot. Drafts in general are crapshoots.

Agree, but the “elite” guys are often known years before draft. This class was, for a long time, being judged on Nolan Patrick, Timothy Liljegren, Cody Glass, etc.
