Description
Give him the fresh start he wants and get something positive back. I’m not impressed with any free agent options in the upcoming offseason, so I think we need to make a move for someone now. Can still sign O’Reilly to something $5.5M AAV or under.

Why would Tarasenko waive for Philly? They're not making the playoffs. And Tarasenko isn't getting Travis Konecny when he still has term left.

Travis Konecny still has 3 years left while Tarasenko is a pending UFA. The difference isn't a 3rd round pick.

1. That trade makes zero sense for Philly direction wise
2. Tarasenko absolutely does not uave more trade value than Konecny right now

We need to address the defense, not Tarasenko. Either Leddy or Krug must go. Somehow.

No idea who’d take on either of them

Usually my complaints about defense are about the forwards, but oh my goodness were the 6 D awful tonight. How do you scratch Rosen!!!!? I think we live in a world where leddy is our best D.

Leddy is nowhere near our best D. I'd argue quite convincingly he's not even our 4th best.

Yeah, that's the rub. The only chance is if a good enough team has a horrible power play or sorely lacks puck movers. Or if Cliff Fletcher gets involved. So it would have to be like Philly, Carolina, Florida, maybe Pittsburgh in a three-way. And even with those, the chances seem rather slim. We'd need to retain something, surely.

On true talent yes, but the others have been so bad this season. I think Leddy has been the only one who has satisfied his role. Parayko gets decent underlying numbers yet has been burned in terms of Actual goal results for over a season now, Krug looks really rough, and even Faulk has been a bit of a mess with his defense and puck play. I like mikkola and Bortuzzo but they can’t be playing together.

Leddy has been largely trash. A good half of Parayko's so-called mistakes are Leddy mistakes attempting to be covered. Parayko has his blond moments, but people exaggerate like crazy. For instance, from the start of February to the end of last season, Parayko was 1st among all NHL Dmen in on ice GA and 3rd in on ice GF. And then he was as strong in the playoffs, with the notable, painful exception of one tragic late game pass. Somehow, so many Blues fans must have missed that. Maybe say screw it and put Leddy with Bortz. But he should not be Colt's partner on the top pairing. He's not that player anymore.

But yes, Faulk has been oddly lackadaisical the last several games. The second goal was totally his fault tonight. Krug is maddening because he'll generally be fine and then suddenly take a total brain nap. Like WTF does he imagine he was trying to do on the first goal? His partner is behind the net to help him move the puck that way so he casually flips it straight the other way and straight to the opponent. Not even a whiff of whip on that puck. He may as well have centered it for them.

Actually, now that I look at the buyout calculator, I'm about two more games of this away from wholeheartedly advocating a buyout for Leddy this summer.

I’m buying out Krug first I think. I think they COULd pull-off a quick retool, but they have to shuffle money from the blue-line. Im excited to see what they have in guys like Tucker and Kessel (I have concerns with him) and maybe Lööf but these guys needs spots. Obviously Scotty could replace Krug but his health is a huge wildcard. They need to pump all the analytics and pro scouting into finding a Marino or Siegenthaler too 😂

1 - Yeah, his calculator ain't the worst thin I've ever seen, either.

2 - Tucker could be a real find. The others aren't near ready, I'd much rather find a way to get Rosen more PT. But yeah, one of those LDs has be magically turned into something far more suitable like Gavrikov.

My opinion is Parayko is the major problem. I am not saying the rest of the dcore has issues as well. But seriously he is terrible.

Flyers decline, Tara is great but TK is also great and on a Longer + Cheaper contract. If Tara were to get traded it would be for futures as if he were a rental, or another player of similar talent and age
