That offer for Horvat probably gets beat

I added a 3rd when I made this trade from the Van side of things. So you are probably right :P. I see the fit for Colorado very strongly. Every Colorado fan disagrees with me though. They have been unconcerned with their number 2 C situation all off season and now. I see it as a clear need.

Ya I agree that they need to address 2C. I think the question becomes do they want a rental fix or something longer term.

I’d probably argue both Newhook and Byram are gonna get close to double that. And Rodrigues likely won’t sign for $2M again unless his injury is worse than we think.

You also are an injury or two away from top 4 Kurtis MacDermid. That can’t happen.

Depth here is really weak.

You have to think with kadri getting 7x7 last year with the season he had for us and having a stanley cup ring under his belt i doubt we're going to spend more on keeping horvat after half a season. I think we'd probily offer the same of 7mil by 8 years as landy has and if that's not in the cards we probily wouldn't make the trade for horvat.

I agree, but i think from what we've seen with sakic he's pretty good about contracts for the team and i think before he hands another one to a 2C he's going to fill the roster similar to this year. If we're trying newhook this year, odds are we will be trying him again next year till he either handles the role or shows he can't and is moved out.

Neither Byram or Newhook are signing those deals. Formenton is so toxic right now OTT isn’t even offering him a contract. COL barely plays MacDermid as is ever on defense they aren’t running an entire season of him at d. He is arguably the worst dman in the league, but fits a combo role with the current team as the 13F, 7d enforcer guy loved in the locker room. And let’s be honest you gave Horvat a contract and just made up values that aren’t realistic for Byram and Newhook, what happens if COL has an injury in or two, who are they calling up?

Yeah, that's not even close to what Byram will be signed for and that's only for starters.

Girard is great and everything but he is not what Ottawa needs at RD

- If Formenton was available for NHL hockey, don't worry the Sens would use him...

- If Formenton value was restored, this package wouldn't be interesting to give up. Brannstrom and the 2 seconds but I personally wouldn't be interested in giving more
