None of these trades are realistic. It's the usual Leafs fan CFACGM fantasy land scenario where ONLY the Leafs needs matter with zero regard for the other team's needs.

Ah, yes, the idiotic Frank-Vatrano-to-Toronto-for-garbage contagion only worsens.

We didn't sign Frank Vatrano just to trade him after 19 games, especially since he looks like he's going to be exactly what we expected him to be. Plus your value is way off: two years plus of Vatrano is worth more than a rental, a B prospect and a future shot-in-the-dark.

Where is this Vatrano crap coming from? Friedman? Just because a GM inquired about a player doesn't mean the other GM is required to trade him.

Friedman mentioned in on 32 thoughts, and continued on to say it probably wouldn't work with the cap, I don't know if he bothered to mention that we just signed him, or that as a small market franchise, shipping out a guy you just signed with term is a great way to ensure no one signs with you in the future. At a minimum, it would make Verbeek look like an idiot for trading away the first guy he signed in FA, possibly his very first signing as GM of the Ducks (can't recall if he extended anyone this off season)

Did you see the one where they wanted Shattenkirk and Stolarz for Murray and a 24 4th?

They also wanted us to retain 50% on Shattenkirk in that deal.

Yikes. Not surprised though. CFACGM posters seem to enjoy fleecing the Ducks. I don't think they realize how smart Verbeek is.

I blame Arizona for putting out the vibes that a bad team just wants to stay bad forever. Just keep trading away NHL level talent for futures year after year. With that mindset it's easy to look at a team like the last place Ducks and assume they will trade anything not under 22.

Chicago certainly didn't help with the Hagel and DeBrincat trades. Why is a rebuilding team trading guys under 24? When that s*%t happens why wouldn't the Ducks trade Comtois or Terry.

The league has good examples of rebuilds done right; Detroit, New Jersey, and so on. But it's boring to look at those teams to see how the league is and should be run. Let's run with the crazies instead!

If my memory serves Verbeek signed Sam Carrick before FA started. But that matters not at all to your point... Verbeek isn't trading Vatrano in any sane world.

Ducks will be a WAGON soon enough. They're out West so they don't get much attention in the East.

I mean, Chicago more did that Cat trade to blow up the roster and begin the rebuild, they really had to rip the bandaid off and didn't want to waste Cat's prime years. In a year or two, I don't think Chicago will be trading away any young talent once they are down in the basement and looking to start clawing their way up.

Arizona is..... well..... they've been through a LOT of front office guys, and everyone has to put their mark on the team, right? They haven't stuck with anyone long enough to stop tearing the roster down and really get the rebuild going.

On a roster that has Seth Jones and two 34-yrs making 10M each it's pretty questionable to START your blow up with trades of Hagel, DeBrincat and Dach. It's a strange approach is all I'm saying.

Although I'd give you that Jones is nearly untradable and both of Kane and Toews have full no moves. Putting the team into a place where those two want out might be a necessary strategy.

Chicago declines. Domi for 2024 2nd and its a deal.

On the Hagel talk. They got 2 late 1st round picks and Raddysh for Hagel. Seems like a win for the Hawks there.
