The Devils do not need goaltending. That is old news. Vitek has been awesome, Blackwood was fine when healthy, but for now ask any Devil fan and they are very happy with Schmid to hold the fort otherwise.

I'd love to trade for a legit starter or 1a, e.g. not Cam Talbot. Imo Blackwood is too much of a risk as a backup for a contender.

and so far there hasn't been any movement on that. If there isn't any movement, they should be trading him at the deadline rather than risk losing him for nothing.

If by the deadline , the Zub camp doesn’t want to negotiate then you move him. But ideally you wanna re-sign him

Dorion always find new reasons to screw up and he did regarding upcoming UFAs before but a FIRM internal deadline needs to be set. If not extended by this exact date, Zub then becomes a hot comoodity at the deadline
