Why would TO make that trade? Because Samsonov was struggling? Or is it because Murray is struggling. Because reality is telling me that Demko is the one actually struggling. No reason at all to make this trade. We have a goalie who has won 2 cups and is playing well.

I was going to describe my opinion on all the trades but I knew it would take forever so I deceived to do the first trade.

Tarde #1: VAN trades J.T.Miller. PIT trades K.Kapanen, B.McGinn, 2023 1st round pick.

VAN declines. So far this season Miller has 17 points in 18 games and is on pace for 73 points only which is a downgrade form last season. Last season he had 99. He has 39 hits and 15 minutes but he has a -6 in +/-. Not the greatest. He has 13 BS, a 15.00 S% and a 46.9 FO%. McGinn has been great having 9 points in 19 games. He’s on pace for 36 points but I doubt it will happen. He has 23 hits and 2 penalty minutes, a +6 in +/-, 9 BS, a 20.00 S% and a 40.0 FO%. Kapanen on the other hand has been bad. 5 points in 13 games. He’s on pace for 30 points but I don’t see it happening. He has 17 hits and 0 penalty minutes which is good but he has a -3 in +/-. He has 3 BS, a 6.25 S% and a 20.0 FO%l YIKES. The 1st could be solid. The 17th pick IMO will be Caden Price who’s a 6ft 1in 181lbs LHD for Canada. I have seen other option having Oliver Moore go 17th. He’s also very aggressive.

Honestly I don’t see why either of these teams do the trade.

or Florida for that matter. Trading away 10 mil bad cap but a goalie who has performed well the past few seasons. Taking on 11 mil bad cap back and paying for the privilege of doing so.

Well if Vancouver is going full rebuild then getting 2 first certainly helps.

Just a few months ago demko was future vezina & stanley cup winner and only 26. Now you want to trade him for a king’s ransom? Either he’s still the former (in which case you’d be crazy to trade him) or he’s not, and he ain’t worth half of what you’re asking. Gotta love canuckle fans - their players were the best before the season started and now that we’re 20 games in and they stink, their players are still the best tears of joy .

I think in Florida’s case it’s better cap allocation to have Murray (2 years less) and OEL would upgrade their left side even if he is overpaid.

However, adding luostorinan and a 2nd does not make sense. Murray plus OEL for Bobrovsky is fair imo
