Buffalo pass, it makes little sense. We need other players.

Honestly, what is wrong with this deal? Neither player is turning out to be a significant needle mover for their respective teams

Krebs was a main part of the Eichel deal, Krebs is a center, the last thing Buffalo needs are small streaky scoring wingers that don't play defense but also that can't score and has no
other intangibles. They could just call up Weissbach if they wanted. Krebs is a GMKA guy, who for now should be viewed as untouchable merely because of the context of his acquisition, and Hoglander couldn't be any more redundant and useless on the Sabres roster

Krebs's trade history shouldn't be what makes him untouchable, he isn't being impactful for the team and he's not a teenager anymore. That's a foolish and petty way to treat assets

Even if that were true that doesn't nullify the second part, Hoglander is absolutely useless to Buffalo. If they're moving Krebs, they have plenty of holes to fill, they arent moving him for a player they have at least 5 of already and almost all of them are better than Hoglander

But none of those players have proven ANYTHING at the NHL level, you're in no position to say any of them are better than Hoglander, and Krebs hasn't been playing center for the most part. He's been on the wing

Skinner, Olofsson, Peterka, Quinn. They don't need anymore, they need less, they need wingers that have other skill sets. Krebs is a center and they're developing him as a center, Mittlestadt was even on his wing last game and he, Mittlestadt, is the only center that can win faceoffs on this team

I wasn't sure if he was getting any center time. It didn't seem like it. Both Hog and Krebs had good 1st years and down production after. Just throwing it out there. As I thought a Hog-Mittlestadt-JJP might be an interesting look.

Peterka has been anchored to Cozens. Also I still don't know what Hoglander adds, "factually" as one would say. The Sabres are too small and get out muscled every game already

Peterka is equally adept on either wing?

Idk if I've seen him on the left, they've flipped Quinn back and forth

I have been saying that since the summer when it was apparent there wouldn't be any big acquisitions. Just looking at our top 9, I was thinking, they better be really good because they are awfully soft. Of course I thought they would get the full year to evaluate them before adams decided just how he would address the shortfall. Unfortunately long losing streaks are the one thing that might make adams do something. Hoglander should not be a target for exactly the reasons you mention- Krebs can play center, and we already have too many of what hoglander brings.
