I would point to the Copp deal at last year's deadline, which was a 1st, a 2nd and Morgan Barron. I really like Andrew Copp, but he wasn't second in league goal scoring last year. If you project the Canes to draft around 25th in the round, then their first and Morrow is easily a reasonable return.

Given the seasons that both Horvat and Schenn are having, your proposal is not enough, whether they are rentals or not. Other teams will outbid you.

In desperate need of a center? Horvat is a good fit…but what the Canes really need is another dynamic scorer regardless of W or C. They have gotten excellent center play this year and have even seen guys like Necas play a bit of Center too.

I actually enjoy how triggered people are by the Canes and KK. If it does go really bad, you realize that buying him out is quite affordable? At 4.82 it’s far from an anchor, and if he becomes a solid 3rd line two way centerman it’s a steal. But yeah, 7 long years…

They have no offensive center behind Aho. Staal is elite defensively but is a 3c and KK has been outscored x2 by Stefan Noeson. Need a second line pivot that can score, otherwise they'll be bounced handily in the second round again

Yeah, that was Trocheck. He wasn’t able to get it done. Besides, the increase in scoring from KK allowing Svech and Necas more offense, KK’s lack of offensive production is being covered. It’s not like the chances haven’t been there for KK, they just haven’t gone in. As long as KK continues his defensive dominance, the Canes will be just fine.
