Description
How to add Jost now and keep him when everyone gets healthy. Trying to talk myself into it. I'm not sure it's a good fit on the ice but it sure is a good fit in my heart.

He would be better than Megna or Hunt on the 4th line, especially since 4C options are next to done right now with all the injuries

He wanted to be traded years ago because he wanted to play more minutes, i'm sure he would be thrilled to be brought back and dumped 4th line again

The alternative is playing in Iowa for the Wild's farm system. I would think he'd be happy just to get another shot in the NHL.

I wouldn't mind the pick up. He could be a nice fill in for Helm until he returns.

That part sucks, and probably keeps him from coming back. Would Mild retain .5-1m if a meh prospect came back? Havent looked at slots left for retention and guys they will have to retain on at the tdl

Avs are currently using LTIR regardless. His $2m wouldn't matter for months.

They are using LTIR because so many guys are hurt and they are using a couple 100k. When either Girard or Byram comes back they can go back to accruing cap space that allows them to make a big move at the TDL. Pulling another $2M pushes them further into LTIR and away from accruing. Or at least I think that is what it is.

I love Josty but his problem imo was always his skating at least to be a 3rd line pt producer and at $2M COL just can’t allocate that money to the 4th line.

Really I have to ask 'why'? Other than sentiment. Not a good move for reasons stated above and if the Avs wanted a waiver claim there will be (and have been) better and cheaper players go (gone) through waivers. Some they might not have been able to claim and tried to but there will be more to come if they need to go that route.
