With severson gone nemetz is the guy they are expecting to come up and fill the slot. The prospects i have them moving here are expendable, but nemetz isnt

Neither NJD fans nor VAN fans want Quinn-to-NJD.

Nobody's going to argue that Graves > Q. Hughes... but sacrificing that much forward depth just to put a couple of guys on the 3rd pairing who really shouldn't be there is a complete waste.

And is it really "so much worse"? Devils have one of the best backends in the league right now... That top 6 -Severson +Hughes&Nemec is perfectly fine by me. Definitely not worth sacrificing high-end forward depth to add to it.

Why are you telling 3 different Devils fans what the Devils need?... Mercer and Holtz are needed more than Quinn. Devils could maybe use another high-end forward, never mind discarding two.

Like Smitty said, even if Luke is only half of what Quinn is. He doesn't really NEED to be more, the expectations for him next season are just to play 3rd pairing minutes.

If Quinn had a different last name, nobody would see a fit here.

You've given no reasons why Holtz and Mercer are expendable, while Quinn Hughes is a desperate need. Why Quinn? Why not Chychrun? Why not Graves? Is it maybe just because of his last name?

3 guys that have watched likely close to every Devils game for years probably knows a bit more about they need than somebody who watched a couple per year? Never mind watching Utica... Michigan... Salavat... etc games.
