What Sanderson has been doing this season has been remarkable, especially the way he's stepped up with Chabot and Zub out. He's been Ottawa's best Dman all season, and he's only been getting better as his role has increased, now playing 22-25 min a night like a 10 year pro. The fact that he's doing it under arguably the worst active NHL head coach makes it all the more impressive.
I don't think he'll win, because when do defense first Dmen ever win, but as of now he's EASILY a top 3 finalist. If you were handing it out today I'd be going Thompson-Sanderson-Power
