Should they start considering a goalie change

Description
I really don’t know what else to think of LA right now except they need better goaltending. Quick still shows some brilliance in net but Petersen just doesn’t seem to have anything going at all but the question is who the hell will even want to acquire him? Maybe they can at least acquire a goalie on a lower cost contract if they can dump Petersen.

I'm not sure it's just goaltending, but the goaltending is definitely looking soft even when seeing limited shots on goal. My guess it's one of if not a mix of a few things.

1. The new system offensively has been great at upping offensive production, but has taken the team out of position a lot of times, I think we might need to have our centers not drive the puck nearly as much and provide defense through the neutral zone. The Kings are allowing 3.5 goals allowed per game, contrast that with 2.79 goals allowed per game. We had 2.84 goals per game last season, and this season it's 3.33 goals per game. The point is our goals per needs to be above that goals allowed or this team is not going to be playoff bound long-term.

2. Matt Roy and Alex Edler were much more successful at maintaining defense than Durzi and Roy have been. Each of Durzi, Clarke, and Walker look like they are set for the 3RD role and none of them look like they should be our 2LD. The Kings need someone who makes Matt Roy look like the best shut down player but can also score goals like Durzi, no idea what player can address that.

3. The team is near the bottom in terms of PK at 74.6% special teams look really bad at times

Detroit passes, We don't need Petersen for 3 x $5,000,000 there's a good chance of Cossa being ready by 2024 the way he's been playing. We can just resign Ned for 2 more years at no more than $4,000,000 per.

That's a tough one.

Getting two 2nd round picks would be great, but 3x5,000,000 for a back up goaliegrimace. I think I would still do this. There are always teams looking for goalies, if Petersen can somewhat revive his career there are surely takers for him. Two 2nd round picks what we had never gotten from Ned.

4.02 GAA and .867 SV%. If he’s 4-2-0 as a backup paid $1M I wouldn’t be concerned. But that isn’t the case here. He’s paid $5M to let in goals left and right. The wins are nice but being scored on 3+times a game can’t keep happening.

The team hasn't showed up in front of him. He's let up a couple questionable goals that he probably should have stopped, but for the most part, he's getting lit up because the team is leaving him out to dry. It's happening to Quick too.

With the exception of the Calgary hiccup on Monday, the team is starting to clean up their defensive play. I'm not overly worried about Petersen, especially if he continues to win games.
