Description

Buffalo seems to be poised to take the next step out of the 10 year rebuild. Fun team to do an ACGM for, so I figured I would take a shot. They are one of the few teams who could make a play for Meier. I'm assuming Chychrun will be healthy by TD. I fully realize he is on IR right now. Demko is being hung out to dry in Vancouver. If they are looking to retool and tank for Bedard, Comrie and Levi are a fair trade IMO. I think he would return to form in Buffalo.

I didn't say he was worthless. The return is Buffalo's top G prospect, Comrie and a 2nd in a very deep draft.

Idk how you can say Levi > Demko when Demko has played at an extremely high level the previous two seasons while Levi hasn’t played an NHL game yet. Sure Demko has struggled this year but that’s only 11 games. He’s still a top 7-10 goalie on a great contract

You can make the conditionality of the pick off anything you want so long as both sides agree. Signing conditionality happens all the time

Yes, I don't trade Peterka. I just wanted to say that the option with Chychrun is quite possible. Power looked good on RD, Chychrun has a lot of NHL games on RD. I just do not like his injuries, otherwise he fits.

Goalie prospects are unpredictable, just like regular goalies. They are the easiest to bust, and some nobodies will likely end up as stars. Demko on the other hand is proven.

Two blue chip prospects and a 1st is a haul for Meier. San Jose isn't looking to win this year: they're looking to sell high. Why would they reject that deal?

Power looks good on RD, and Chychrun can play both. If there is a better dman available then by all means.

Levi is Buffalo's top G prospect. A 2nd in a deep draft, and a serviceable Goalie are a solid return.

No, it’s not that way anymore. You can’t have compensation based on whether a player signs with the team or not. It’s not the teams responsibility who trades a player away, it’s on the acquiring team to sign them or not.

I'm a flames fan, so I'm pretty impartial on this one. I made the pick conditional because there are only 5 teams who can take Meier's QO of 10 MM and San Jose only has 16.3MM in cap space and 15 players rostered. It's not exactly a position of leverage.
